Too lazy to wash your car? Just pressure wash it!
I didn't feel like scrubbing the car, or driving to a car wash, so I simply used my pressure washer's soap dispenser, blasted the car, and rinsed it off.
Too lazy to dry the car, so parked it in the garage to avoid sun spots as best I can. The result? Actually not terrible.. comparable to a touchless wash. I might not find the need to drive it through any car washes this summer, and instead save my points (and cash) for the winter season. Took me 5 minutes, unless you count bringing the hose and pressure washer out.. then it took about 10 minutes instead |

My M5 has several layers of wax on it that even after torrential downpours and driving through dirty ridden country roads and hundreds of bugs, all it takes is a coin OP high pressure wash to make it gleaming again. Over the years, I've found this is the easiest method for quick and easy upkeep: several coats of wax applied on a clayed and pristine paint surface prevent anything from sticking to the body of the car. Even hand washes are a breeze because any dirt/bugs just slide right off with ease!

I personally would never use a drive-thru car wash myself, even a touchless, but that's just me.
I ONLY go to pay-n-spray's, and I try to stick to the same one because they seem to actually maintain their facility ie: their "foaming brushes" don't look like they're made of 50% sand and grit.

My condo has a coin op wash bay that I use all the time. I still end up with water marks all over though, even if I let it dry inside the parking garage (unless I hand dry of course).

I'm not quite sure why I didn't end up with water spots.
Someone mentioned above if the car is waxed that this will work better. I take it in yearly to get detailed and waxed, so maybe the habit of doing so for 6 years has had good affect. |
