Belt tensioner light randomly goes off after passenger sport seat swap

I swapped my normal passenger seat to sports seat and had a code come on with the airbag lights come on. The code was 93C3 and I cleared the code with my Autophix 7910 scanner. I used the seat belt buckle that came with the new sport seat.

After I cleared the code, the red belt tensioner light would go off random for a minute or so when I drive the car. Sometimes it goes off right when I start the car, other times it shows up randomly as I'm driving.

I try scanning for the 93C3 code again with my scanner and it won't show up. I read somewhere that it's possible to go to ISTA or INPA to code out the light from going off?

Yes, you can code that light out. You have to disconnect the seat mat sensor then code it out. It won’t recognize anyone sitting in that seat anymore.

I'm assuming if he does code it out, the passenger airbag would never deploy?

It is very easy to swap the buckle from the old to new seat.

It’s not the buckle that is bad. It is the mat sensor on the inside of the bottom seat cushion.
If he codes it out, I read the airbags will automatically deploy when in an accident regardless of passenger or not on that side

Thanks for the help! I’ll look into doing the coding option.
