Looking for a good not too expensive coder.
Saw few on Ebay for ~$38 then some on other sites for $159.

Any good recommendations . Need 1 which can read codes on E90 and X5. (2007)

Get a good one that really works. I would recommend the cable from one stop electronics dot com.

I couldnt figure out what type of cable, mine is 03/2007 manufacture date. pre LCI.
they have 2 types of cables one is pre 03/2007 and other is after 03/2007.

K+DCAN USB Interface

Models that require D-CAN:
- E90, E91, E92, E93 after 3/2007

I bought CAN OBDII CODE READER for $39.
will that work for pre-LCI E90. Or do I need +DCAN

to early 2007 you can use what you bought , to 04/2007 and newer you need DCAN, and not the chepset ones since you dont want to accidentaly mess up with coding

The one I bought works fine and was able to read from my 335i and X5. No codes found so far but that was expected since I am not seeing any lights on the Dash Board.
But it worked and $39 is not bad.

you can find some cheap ones in xcardiag.com which is a good web for obd2
