I'm wondering what made people choose E92 over F32, I guess the most common reason would be the price and I'm just contemplating whether the 435i is worth 17k or will I be happy enough with 330i.

Reason I chose those engines since I know the N52 is reliable and the N55 in the F series is also reliable for its performance.

I guess it comes down to budget. If I’d had 17k to spend on a car I may have gone with the 435i but I didn’t so my meagre 5.5k went on an E92 330d. Having said that, I actually prefer the looks of the E92 so for 17k i’d be buying a nice late E92 M3.

got to say i like the f32,,way better looking than the e92,,,,i got my e92 se for £4900 with only 95 k miles,,full history etc,,space grey with black shadowline so no chrome,,spent a bit since then on gearbox service/remap etc etc,,very happy with the car..evem like it better than my 330d sport manual which i also have,,,,,go for the f32 and go 435d not petrol,,quick remap and your at 380 bhp to near 400 bhp

Save/borrow some more money or wait till prices drop & buy a 440i, just don't buy a diesel.
A coupe is no place for a diesel engine

Oh I have no intention of buying another diesel, only have 1 now for my commute which is changing soon.

Why do you say wait for 440i, I know the B58 is apparently amazing but surely the 435i is fine considering the price difference?

Yes I suppose it is but personally if I'd bought a Fx35i I would feel as if I was missing out whenever I saw 40i.
That's why I've still got the e92 35i, I need a wagon for the dog but it wouldn't feel that special if I bought an n55 powered F31 & 40is are to expensive just now for putting a 42 kilo Alsatian puppy in the back of but that's just me.
There are some nice F35is out there, I've looked at plenty but am still hanging out for a 40i

Maybe get a Alpina D4 f32 bit more special than a 440
