Scammer Alert User:AdvancedMind

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
On 9/7/18 there was a posting made for Brembo BigBrakeKit that came off a E92 335i made by person going by the name of AdvancedMind. This posting was made during the early hours of the morning asking $1000 for BBK rotors and 6 piston black calipers for front and 4 piston black calipers in rears. I sent him a private message with my phone number, and he sent me a text pretty quickly. I noticed he put a lock on the thread he made. We were communicating via texts. I asked him to send me a PayPal invoice for the BBK he was selling which he did and I went ahead and paid for it after call PayPal to verify I would be buyer protected just in case it was a scam.

I paid for the item on Friday, September 7th 2018. He stated he would ship out the same day or the following day. I texted him the next day asking if he has shipped out the BBK yet? He replied no not yet. Then I ask him will you be able to ship out the following day, he stated yes. Now it's Tuesday and texts me saying he will ship that evening, then when I follow up asking if he has shipped out my BBK yet and which shipping method he plans on using UPS, USPS or Fed Ex? This is when he texts me and states the rotors got damaged during the packing process, I asked for pictures. He tells me sorry, go ahead and open a pay pal dispute and that he will return the money. I insisted its difficult to damage rotors. His response was that he's in the hospital. All I've heard from this guy was nothing but sorry bullshit excuses from day 1. I should of went with my senses and figured this was too good of a deal to be true. The company he send me the invoice from was called Selly LLC. He claimed to be the manager.
I went ahead and called PayPal customer support and opened up a dispute and case for this transaction. I just don't want anybody to have to deal with the bullshit I had to go through. I texted him stating I've opened up a PayPal dispute and to please respond to the matter and no more texts back from him. I'm currently waiting for PayPal to let me know the outcome in about couple weeks. Until then my $1000 USD is in limbo. Moderators, please do something about this scumbag, trace the ip for AdvancedMind IP address and put a ban on his account.

$1000usd for a set of Brembo big brake kit. I saw the thread and knew right away it was a scam. Can't believe someone fell for it.

Good luck getting your money back!

I was about to pay as well, tried to get him to just meetup in person have friends in a nearby city and he refused red flag #1. Red flag #2 was when he tried to invoice me via Selly it would not let me put in a shipping address nor could I see what the invoice is for. Red Flag #3 was these pop up .us domains where everything was nice stuff for this $1000 price. Good luck with your PP dispute this is a seasoned scammer.

Selly is a platform for merchants, that phone # is associated with a few .us bmw websites on their website see google cache. Here is a whois for that website aswell

Thanks for the whois search for that domain as it's bogus as hell. I'll forward the info to PayPal. Yes, I fall under buyer protection under PayPal buyer protection policy. I contacted PayPal prior to paying the invoice just to double check and make sure my ass was covered. Just in case this piece of shit scammer who believes he ran off with my money. I just have to wait to hear back from PayPal hopefully by next week sometime. Funny how the scammer hasn't responded to the open case on PayPal.

Really sorry to hear. Most likely he already pulled the money and the account is in the negative. Good news is, no matter what, you get your money back.

Always pay as goods and services people!!

Yes he’s scammed locally on craigslist too. I previously did a deep dive to find the source and will post it tomorrow if I can pull it up again, but it’s definitely not in Atlanta, Georgia.

Update on this matter:
I was browsing for parts this morning and found something very similar to this. The guy made postings here in LA as well on craigslist. Every question i asked him he replies with sketchy and simple answers.

Here are the links just in case someone else comes across this.

I am willing to bet you, that person is the same exact scammer. Update, I received a full refund from PayPal. It only took about two weeks. I am sure this same person has scammed quite a few others online. The scammer's phone number that he used with me is 678-759-4539. Also those are the same exact pictures he used on the listing he made on e90post for selling a Brembo BBK. If anybody some how comes across his real home IP address they should post it on here because it would become quite useful.
