On that note .. I myself have a 2011 328xi auto wagon and am going to start modding it up. My question to you is would you like to keep in your files some dyno runs on a completely stock AWD and then if you'd like I can just add the new MILVs with no tune and see what it gains if any? My car has secondary cat delete and performance exhaust but I still have my stock exhaust and was going to install it to have a true "factory" baseline run on my car (97k miles)

I have to get some coin together before I can get a set but I am 100% interested in these along with a tune and a huge list of other costly stuff I wanna do haha
That would be great.

I don't think that there have been any AWD dyno done as of this time.
Having dyno results would be great.
Obviously before and after would be great.
For the after I would wait a few weeks to allow for some 'adaptation' ot be done by the ecu to see if that gains power.
Then a custom tune like from BPC and re-dyno would be great.

Previous results have shown +10HP across the whole rpm range.

Ok will do sir! May take me a couple months but I plan to get a base dyno run anyways on it. Plans are 3IM, CAI, MILV, tune (may even trailer it down for a custom tune) headers (idk if I want catted or catless yet) and still keeping my secondary delete pipes and performance exhaust .. and whatever else I can find to get a bit extra umph out of my N52 lol

But when I get some of my credit cards paid down or at least one paid off then I can start spending money on my baby again

For a CAI,

I've used-
-stock with carbon delete, silicone elbow and aFe filter panel
-EURO with silicone hose
-aFe Magnum FORCE Stage-2 PRO 5R Cold Air Intake.

I highly recommend the aFe. Don't need the silicone elbow with the aFe.

+1 for AFE stage 2. Sounds awesome and the sealed box helps unlike most other options.

What's the main difference between the Euro-box against AFE stage 2? I have the Euro-box and couldn't really tell if there's any real alarming features which will need improvement. Be interesting to know from actual users on these things.

I’m also a fan of the AFE but I wish they included a better secondary intake tract, not just openings on the front of the box.

If they had included some kind of short snorkel that led to the gap over the headlight (and replaced the rubber seal that fills the gap there) it could have been just about perfect.

AFE's filter is larger, and the intake tract from the filter to the throttle body is larger (but necks down the the proper diameter to match the TB opening)

This. And it sounds a lot better than the stock BMW stuff.

Step on the pedal harder.

Odd that it was causing those limp mode issues though.

Question, do MILVs help at partial throttle, or they more for WOT conditions?

The effective lift is only really changed at WOT - but I noticed more partial throttle torque as well.

MILVs only increase intake valve lift after 80% Eccentric Cam position, which is about 80% throttle.

Probably should try and watch ECC position during real time driving. It might go beyond 80% position sooner and more often than I think.
IDK if my scan tool will show ECC position.

I should point out its not a "hard" value where over X% throttle, you get extra lift and under that threshold, you get nothing - but basically the difference below about 75-80% max lift, the difference is so small you would never notice.

I'll have to post the lift curve VS eccentric shaft position for a MILV tune to illustrate that point. But at lower lift values I don't change anything.

Just curious.

Where does all the additional TQ comes from after the MILVS change?

More air (MILVS) + More fuel (updated tune) = bigger boom.

What I meant, which I didn't state, was that I feel the difference regardless of throttle position. If the milvs work only 80% throttle, then there must be something with my throttle pedal.

Throttle position isnt the same thing as valve lift - also, presumably you got a tune too, so its going to make more torque everywhere.
