I probably wouldn't cut the top off and weld a new plate in when you could just cut the existing tower and weld a strengthening plate on top, just seems like extra work for no real benefit, it would look identical.
The reason why he's thinking of doing that is because the airlift front kits don't really go as low as people want. It's hard to get fender to lip on the e9x body. Edit: I realized you were talking about coilovers, but this would help people on airlift front struts.

I would think that would be the way to go GabeS

I don't, mainly because I like the car to be driveable & I play drums, the additional weight in my E91 would make it drag on the floor!

Getting back into it. Car's at the body shop now.
Nothing too wild, but at least the fenders will be clean again.
Need install/paint on the kit, rebuild the wheels, and play with fitment.

@ Youngjnr:

No. I was running 10mm spacers in the back and was rubbing, so I dropped down to 5mm and haven't rubbed since. But I think that's because the RFT's are rounded on the sides. If I went to another tire, I'd prob rub.

Has anyone got these specs to fit on an LCI 335i e90? After all this reading, trying to figure out fitment differences between all the chassis, now I have to also calculate for the LCI being 8mm wider wheel base. UGH!!!

Wheels:
19x9.5ET35 in the front and 19x11 ET35 in the rear

Tires/Tyres:
225/35 front and 265/30 rear

All four corners will be rolled but not pulled. At first I was going with air suspension but I may end up on Broadways with M3 arms in the front and camber arms in the rear.

TIA, Phil

With ET35 in the rear you can go to 275/30/19. You are very safe

Thanks! I was a bit worried because of the high offset, wheel to shock space and fender to tire. I didnt know if I could throw enough camber and have enough clearance inside on the LCI.

That's the exact same spec as you were talking, but with 235/275 on, and air. You'd need to roll/camber your rears more than mine as I'm Pre-LCI and it literally just misses the rear arch, but rubs on the inner slightly.

Same specs because of same wheels...

Thank you! I will be on 225/265 so I hope that will help it all clear.

I did wonder since the specs were identical. Had mine a little while now, just swapped to a production set! Still haven't seen another E9x with a set on even though you guys have had them for about a month on full release.

Because of the stretch the clearance issues are the actual rim itself, so tyre size makes no difference.
