N52 swap into e24
Hi gents
Not sure if this is the right section to post but I wanted to sound you out. I have a crazy idea.... I've had an e90 330 for seven years and it's a great car. I also love e24s Now that swaps are being done with n52s I would like to try it, but...how much suspension components can I swap over?? Stupid idea or feasible Comments welcome Cheers Dan |

I’d start by spending some time looking at realoem.com and Google images of both engines and suspensons.
The physical swap of the engine is hard enough, but the electrical part will be hard as well. It would be far easier to simply upgrade the E24 with performance parts or say an M6 motor. Oh, and there’s also this option. http://mwrench.com/m6v8/LS6/ |

You'd need a custom oil pan etc. I imagine it would be similar to a swap in an E30. People freak out over a little wiring but its not really much different than a typical 24v swap.
I dont think any of the suspension from an E90 is going to fit an E24... |

That will be badass. I WILL be following that thread if you do this.

Not sure - the two things I need to do next are build my head and get an oil pan fabbed. Also get an adapter for the S54 throttles mocked up. There's a lot to do and I'm not even close lol.

How about a 6 speed manual from an e90 330? Maybe need to open up some space in the chassis as it will no doubt be bigger than the 5 speed from that era
Hass, you know I’ll be emailing you for advice when I come to do it!!! I guess I just have to send my ecu to the fella who can recode it, get my oil pan dabbed and it’s just like any other swap? With the extra room in the bay, I don’t foresee any booster issues and hopefully enough room for the 3 stage intake manifold |

Its bigger and heavier - meh. I'm not sure the earlier chassises really need a 6 speed - yeah, newer cars come with 8 and even 10 speeds, but they also weigh 3 tons..
