Black E90 Build

Well I guess it's time to show the little bit of progress that's been made so far.

Excuse the dirtyness, she needs a wash bad but it's supposed to rain today and tomorrow.

I installed the dual slate grill today at lunch and I'm definitely diggin the new look. I really like the dual slates. Purists, no need to comment your dislike.

Previously, I replaced the orange reflectors with a smoke reflector and the clear side markers with smoked LED.

Tomorrow the interior kit, reverse and front turn signal LED's should arrive. That will possibly have to wait till the weekend

Next on the list are all black emblems, front splitter and lip.

The wheels were on the car when I bought it, 19" staggered. I believe they are VMR V710. Someone may be able to confirm or deny.

Enjoy!

Looks nice! Now if you can pair it up with Msport bumper or splitters would be more perfect!

It's a very nice car but it seems mostly stock. Based on your title I was expecting an all out build. Anyways don't mind me, nice car.

Yeah sorry, I can see it was a bit misleading. I know there will be more parts/mods coming so instead of just waiting to put it all up I'll just update as I go. Correct, it is mostly stock...for now.

Is that just stock height? No springs or coils?

Based on my quick initial inspection it's stock. I haven't had a chance to really take the wheels to confirm. It seems lower to me but that may be a visual effect of the wheels and tires filling out.

I don't know what a stock ride height is so I really don't have much of a comparison.

Looks like factory sport suspension to me. I know the wheels are 19" but they would not look so flush without mild lowering (sport package).

Where can I look to verify?

What does the factory sport suspension consist of? Springs, shocks, sway bars?

Thanks!

You should use a online BMW VIN decoder. You can see all the options your car came with based on the VIN, and it will be obvious if sport package is one of them. Here's the first one I got from Google: https://www.etkbmw.com/bmw/EN/vin/decoder/online

Sport pkg equipped cars come with sport seats, beefier steering wheel, larger wheels etc. As for specific suspension components, I know you get different springs, but not sure what else.

Nope, didn't see anything that really stood out indicating a sport package. I'll have to really get in there and check.

Thanks for your help.

No problem. If you find out what kind of suspension is on the car, you should post it here, since I think it looks great. Interested to see how the build comes along.

I may catch a little flak for this question but I'm gonna pull the "I'm still new" card if so... the msport and m-tech are referring to the same thing correct? It also has the round fogs in lieu of the square/triangular fogs on there now, correct.

I also may catch heat for this too, but I like the stock bumper. I saw a thread of someone with an AW stock bumper, splitters, and Hamann style front lip and I really liked it.

When it comes to car modding, isn't it always a question of if the funds comply?! I planted a money tree in the backyard 2 years ago but I haven't seen anything sprouting. Same guy tried to sell me beachfront property in Kansas so I think he may have been lying.

Tonight's project was red needles, "chrome" gauge bezels.

Pics: before, after, after with lights on and LED turn signals

I put in the LED turn signals, reverse lights, and interior kit the other day. The turn signals really bring out how awesome the halogen angel eyes are!

Since I'm not a mind reader, I'm presuming you're asking if the LED's are cobalt. No they are not. They're 6000k white since eventually I will be changing the angel eyes and headlights to the same color.

Thanks for your opinion though! Yet again e90post comes through with great support!

Dude... You're making this look like a ghetto cobalt. Shouldn't have to say ghetto though it's already implied when you're speaking of cobalts.

Well you and Blueeyes must be far more intelligent than me cause I don't quite follow your logic. After all I am just an ig-nant ghetto-ite living in da hood. You're also being too kind. I've been going for the 90's Honda Accord style so I guess I need to get more ghetto. "Momma we need more baking soda in da crack rock. We not ghetto enough!"

I happen to like everything I've done so far and will continue to do what I want. What's even better for everyone, it's my car! So you don't have to live with the decisions I've made. How awesome is that?!

Feel free to continue reading the thread or not. If you don't like anything, that's totally fine but no need to tell me. Save yourself the time and effort of responding.

Thanks again for your wonderful support!
