Thoughts on these headlights?

As the title says, What are these headlights? Just unbranded rubbish?
Or are they okay?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370575570526

Ideally I'm looking to fully replace the headlights on my car with xenons and angel eyes, as I've just got boring plain halogens on my 2007 E90.

I like the look of those, all black and nice white angel eyes, but obviously don't want to buy just plain crap.

Any better suggestions? I'm looking really around the £300 or under mark for some at least decent ones. Is that possible?

Thanks!

Im interested in this thread too. I know the LCI lights go straight in and they have halo's but I like the look of these better too. I think though reading some old posts about these lights is that they mist up. Dunno if you can seal them up any more than they already are.

I love the look of halo's but at this moment in time I can't affort them as I spunked the light money on recovery grrrrrrr

You categorically won't pass the new MOT rules if you fit HID bulbs.

Only if HID's are going in, and alot of testers won't pay much attention anyway I reckon. Fine is projectors/normal halogens are going back in.

Yeah as loads of people have already commented on a seperate thread, yes its against the rules, but I guarntee alot of testers will pass them. My last car sailed through the MOT earlier this month, with aftermarket HID's.

Maybe, but as it's a special revision, among others, for 2012 I'd expect that testers catagorically will failt them. Still, if you can guarantee they'll pass then on you go.

Are these headlights just unbranded ones? Like Mart Said, they may fog up?

And if you were to just leave the stock halogen bulbs in these headlights they would pass MOT? But, If I fit HID's in, it would fail? I'm not TOO fussed about HID's more just angel eyes and the all black look

My car just sailed through an MOT less than a week ago anyway, so I'm set for a while

With halogen bulbs they'll be fine, MOT-wise.

Is there any branded/good alternatives to buy in the UK for around that price?

From what I've read the Depo ones seem to be the best, but I'm sure someone in the know or better still, someone who's had experience of them will be along soon

Not sure I like the black background - would want them to look stock as possible?

Not sure why they mention electric motors...where do you take the levelling from? So could you just put a set of +30 or +50s halogens into this kit?

Cheers

All BMW headlights have electric motor levelling it's just that xenons are automatic and halogens have a manual thumbwheel near the light switch. They both use motors though.

Personally I like the black background, and think it does look quite stock. I saw the electric motor thing, but assumed all BMW headlights have them anyway.

Only place I know to buy headlights from is eBay though, and there isn't any Depo headlights on there.

Personally I would not touch any aftermarket headlight. There seems to be a consistent feedback that the lighting performance of any aftermarket product (Depos included) is crap. I cannot accept that it is anything other than crass stupidity to reduce the performance of your headlights just to get something that looks better to other people (because after all when they are switched on you are probably in the car driving it!!!)

Instead if I were in your position and really wanted the angel eye look I would source some LCI headlights and Osram Nightbreaker PLUS bulbs. As I understand it these are a straight swap and have the corona rings you seek.

These will be shit, as is typical of chinese crap not actually manufactured to the same standard as a BMW original part.
