Beautiful car. I see in your mods list that you are using the Powerflex rear upper shock mounts. May I ask you are you using the "race" stiffness ones and how did it affect NVH? What spring rate do you have in the rear and how is it working for you? Also, are you running the stock rear sway bar? I see that the front is an M3 bar. How do you like the setup? Thank in advance. |

Just checked my old order confirmation email, yes, they are the race ones. Honestly, I don't think it affects the NVH much. I honestly think mods to the rear suspension is NOT gonna affect the NVH that much on a car with full interior, unless you are talking about the diff bushings. The car is so well insulated from the factory. I hear less backend noise in my 9 year old bmw than a brand new mustang GT. Stock rear works just fine. The tq on the N54 hits so quickly, you need all the traction you can get to put all that power down in a corner. And a stiffer rear sway is just gonna take away that rear end grip even more.

I don't have experience with any other suspension setups for the e90 but I have full m3 suspension with m3 diff and went with ground control street/sport and the car feels amazing. I really can't see any difference in NVH compared to stock.

How'd you fit 265's up front?

Wow I thought 255s were pretty much the limit? Not much room between the struts and fender well. Lucky you, you must have a ton of grip.

it really has more to do with what coilover you have. some kits have pretty wide spring and spring collar, so you don't have much space to squeeze in anything wider than 255.
For street use, I would just stick with 255. You are not going to see much difference in traction between 255 and 265 on the same 9" wide wheel.
