Wax on new paint
I just got paintwork done on my hood an rear bumper 1 week ago. My detailer put wax on the whole car. I know I should of waited at least a month to let the paint heal before applying wax to the newly painted parts.
What is most likely to happen. |

Most likely nothing will happen, but......
Worst case scenario is the wax will interfere with the fresh paint or will not allow solvents and gases in the paint to escape as the paint cures. In this scenario, the paint may develop a variety of surface defects. |

Paint needs to off gas to cure completely. It should be okay as long as the paint can breathe through the wax but could slow down the process.
Best us to strip off wax on the newly painted surface and let it dry and cure for a few weeks. |
