Help! Paint keeps getting scratched. In search of good quality car wash stuff

I have a Titanium Silver e90 335i that I've had for a few weeks. I've washed it a few times by hand, and the past 2 times I have noticed a very fine scratch just above the pinstripe. You cannot feel the scratch and since the car is silver I can't tell how deep it really is.

I just want to know what is causing it. Could it be some of the granules or something from the pinstripe coming off? Or is it more likely that my car wash stuff (soft wash mitt and shammy).

What wash equipment is recommended as far as sponges, etc. and especially for drying the car? I hate the shammy I have because it always leaves spots on the car. My friend recommended microfiber sponges and microfiber towels to dry.

On another note, what is the best interior cleaner for dash and door panels? Thanks in advance.

Research research research. Blowing past the stickies and making a new thread isn't the way to introduce yourself to the detailing section of the site. Slow it down and learn proper washing / maintenance techniques and WHY they're proper/better/less invasive to your finish and you'll likely be able to figure out what you need to buy all by yourself.

Welcome to the first step in your addition to a flawless looking vehicle

You can also check out autogeek.net. They have great instructional videos on how to properly wash, clay, polish, and wax your car.

Yes, it does have a pinstripe. Is that rare? I bought the car like that lol. I guess I'll do my research. I was just trying to get a quick answer I guess because I don't really have much time right now to research lol

check the sources we cited above -- you wont learn any quicker if we cut and paste.

and just because it came with a pinstripe doesnt mean you have to let it stay on there
