Exclamation 3-15 DIC maps (500+whp and other enhancements)

Hi guys,
Nothing helps in development quite like traveling 3500 miles to Canada to spend a week tuning two 500whp upgrade turbo cars. With big turbos, subzero ambient temps, unlimited meth/dyno time and two willing customers who wanted to push the envelop, we were able to induce load conditions that I could never could come close to replicating in-house (at least not yet!). We learned, first hand, about about fuel/ignition system limits, DME diagnostic quirks and mapping requirements. Something that simply could not have been learned through remote tuning or through testing lower powered cars. Armed with all these new information, we have had our nose to the proverbial grindstone since getting back to California 3 weeks ago. We've kept the results of this testing quiet and did all preliminary alpha testing off-line. Big thanks to Dzenno (RB turbo 6mt), Ultimateracing335 (RB turbos 6MT), badass335 (stock turbos 6AT), loweredram (stock turbos 6AT), enrita (TD turbos 6AT), oddjob (ASR turbos 6MT), and everyone else who provided us with private feedback and datalogs.

And the results are pretty darn good which you can now see/feel for yourself:

Now available for download here: http://www.procedetuning.com/BMW/n54...downloads.html

What’s New:

1) Completely new approach to crank signal processing. This results in a resolution improvement of 800%. Slightly overkill but the benefits will be felt in all applications (smoother idle, resistance to misfire, better ignition timing control, more consistent advance, etc,.)
2) New specific maps for RB turbo cars! The wastegates on the RB turbos are stiffer-than-normal which required a substantial change to the standard wastegate DC maps. You will also notice that the Boost Control Gain value in the user adjustable menu is set to 30%, instead of the usual default of 50%. This means that RB turbo cars must run RB turbo maps. Running standard maps will result in overboost, throttle closure and general unhappiness. With appropriate supporting modifications, race gas and methanol injection, these maps will support over 500whp at 19psi of boost.
3) Revised fuel system mapping which should result in more fuel system capacity in the important 4000-5000rpm range.
4) Procede integrated traction control is less sensitive. This means that it will be less reactive to factory BMW traction control intervention.
5) Now you can temporarily revert back to stock gas level/oil temp gauge display mode by simply requesting a current map display (cruise control stalk bumped up). While the current map # is being displayed on the tach (for the usual 1.5 seconds), the fuel level and oil temp gauges will momentarily revert to stock display. Before this, you would have to toggle through the gauge display options to see the original display options. So this is very convenient.

As always, please read the accompanying documentation carefully. It will answer most of your questions (ie, is autotuning active?, what IC% should I run?, etc,.). Also, this is still a BETA release, so please read the big in red and bold at the bottom of the Read Me file. Those who don't adhere to that requirement will be software locked from running beta release maps in the future

Cheers,
Shiv

Looks great. Just a suggestion... don't plot Boost Control DC in the same graph as Boost. It just ends up looking messy

Steering wheel command center controls coming up next...

Yes i'm really satisfied. Before, with 2-14, at high IAT I had problems with IGN Cor (it jags a little bit)... With this 3-15, no one!
Thank u for the suggestion! Great work!

I've been debating between RB and ASR turbos. Lots of customers have the RBs now. So maybe it would make sense to run the ASRs to make sure we have all bases covered. Either way, I'll be running some upgrade within the next month or two.

they seem to both have their strongpoints.

I like that the ASR's have DBB CHRA's.......but they leave the WG factory right?

Whoa the idle on the car seems to be so smooth now! It hovers lower than the norm that I use to see but yet it really is smooth...Exhaust note seems to be a drop lower than the previous 2-14 maps...THe performance of these new maps are incredible and so much better than 2-14 maps/firmware in terms of smoothness...I was wondering why you have been so quiet lately and these refinements show the reason! No misfires or hiccups, not that I was ever experiencing this issue ever...

This is great stuff! I really wish I had my car back from the shop already!

From you guys who have tried it, how does it feel compared to the 2-14 BETA maps?

is smoother all the way to redline. low end is soooo nice and enjoyable , car is very reactive and torque is put down progressively but at the same time really strong. For upped turbos after 5000 rpm hell brakes loose till 6850 rpm non stop.
