However, an Intercooler is a very good mod to have anyway. The engine loves the cooler air and it makes the turbos job easier. Same thing with downpipes, the less backpressure the better. |

Thanks Rader for the response, but could you explain a little more? I don't think I fully understand what you mean by shaft speed...(crankshaft revolutions?)
I'm not gonna go crazy with my car or anything, but from what I'm getting from your answer is that i shouldn't be redlining my car at such a high boost, but rather only push my car to mid rpms 3-5k? Please clarify. Thanks for the help |

^he's referring to turbo shaft speed, not engine. Cobb has said numerous times that their tune doesn't push the turbo's that hard. 15psi (or more) in the midrange is far less strain for the turbo's (and motor) than 15psi at redline. Cobb and procede taper boost to preserve turbo life at higher rpms. Feel free to rev your car however much you want. N54's loose power above 6k or 6.5k rpms anyways, no point to rev them out completely

Thanks for the help! Another quick question, some people on the cobb thread have been commenting about stock vs linear throttle response. Could you explain this to me more? (I assume linear = throttle opens up linearly according to amount of gas pedal depression, whereas stock isn't?) I have a 6mt, so i'm curious which setting would be more appropriate for me.
I feel like i personally hijacked this thread... |

i'd recommend trying all throttle maps available, see which one you like the best. i personally liked the stock and aggressvie throttle maps the best, but linear seems popular, as well |

Nothing has been proven, but I always fill up before the light comes on, just to be safe. You can get a specific misfire and misfire code due to the tank being too low |

i know our direct injection motors run much higher EGT's than traditional port injected cars. i don't know the range where it becomes too high, however. i'll have to research that and i'll update this thread with what i find
