335i vs Genesis 3.8

Today me and my buddy are taking the cars to the track .. What should I expect .. I drive a completely stock 335i e93 (heavy?) and he drives a genesis 3.8 .. I want to know more or less what to expect .. Also how would I do against a 2.0t? We're both equally skilled drivers in my opinion and I'm not sure if he's got minor bolt ons in his car

You can expect to go into limp mode after 3-5 times around the track.

Also, if he is your friend, you should ask him if he has any mods.

What exactly do you mean by limp mode? Must I turn traction control to access this 'mode'

It's more of a mutual friends thing where my friend told me his buddy was down to take it to the strip 😁

Fortunately it's an added extra, and it will activate itself. Bring a Box lunch.

Especially in South Florida.

The 0-60 on a 3.8 Genesis is about 5.5-5.9sec. The car fairly quick but not exactly a lighting bolt; a stock E92 can take the 3.8 Genesis in a drag race. A tuned 335 will blow it right out of the water.

A couple warnings:
1. Limp Mode will kick in if you track your car with enough gusto that it overheats. Limp Mode is a good thing as it will keep you from destroying the car. Mods like a bigger FMIC, better oil and water coolers, and upgraded fan will help reduce the chance of limp mode.

2. Turning off DSC and maintaining DTC (quick press of the button), will have you cook your brakes and/or warp you rear rotors in quick order. Turning DSC completely off(5 second press) will remove the e-diff and all electronic nannies completely, giving complete control-or uncontrol, as it sometimes can be- of the car to you.

E-diff stays on with DSC completely off, otherwise you'd end up doing one wheel peel when doing burnouts, like old muscle cars with open differential.
