Not really. Is it because there are few makers there and import fees, etc? In the US, a good set of alloy aftermarket look better than oem, are substantially lighter, just as strong, and cost half what oem does. There's so many oem sets available used as a result they're basically throw aways. It's like paying double for a 2 piston oem brake caliper instead of buying a 4 piston brembo for half the price.

This is a good deal if someone wants to make it themselves. I certainly won't be using used brake pads, but it is good to have options. |

I have a N47 X1 20d E84 and its on 19's so Im not worried about fitting them in to 16" alloys.
But my front and rears are taken from a 325i E9x What calipers and carriers can I buy to upgrade? We don't have a 328i option on the E9x platform but we do have 330 and 335 here in the UK. I can easily pick up 335 calipers which would be ideal really but not sure whats required |

It is a great deal. No to used pads? Lets don't be pompous. Our cars are not new, perfect or sacred in any way. Besides, do you know what kind of pads will you get from AD? Or which rotors? No, you don't and probably won't be better than used OEM.That info is not published nor they will share it with you.

I choose not to run used pads, clutch disc, or pistons which is my preference. You're arguing by yourself here. This thread is a good one and has been very informative. Cheers |

Get any 328i rear caliper and e91 328i rear rotors. E91 > the station wagon > because it has a 300mm rotors with 185mm parking brake like the 330i/335i. Non e91 328i have 300mm rotors with 160mm parking brake wich will not fit 330i/335i.

Just an update, i got my calipers off of an 06 325i e90 parts car so same as 328i and rotors i ordered for a 528i e39 2000. It bolted up and fit great with a small spacer for the caliper bracket.

I just completed my swap
328 e90/e92 calipers and pads 328 e91 rotors PERFECT FIT, no spaces, no grinding needed. I would suggest using the brake lines from the 328 rotors though. I used the ones from my 335 because I actually bought brand new calipers and of course they don't come with the lines. Reason being is that the lines from the 335 have a lot more treads on the bolt that screws into the caliper than the one on the 328... It still works and it does NOT leak but i would use 328 lines so I don't see the treads sticking out of the caliper making it seem like it is not in all the way. |
