thrill30, I had planned to get the titanium silver. However, once I went to the dealer and saw how stunning the Sapphire Black looked on the e90, I immediately decided to change to the Sapphire Black. Also, try to look at a Sapphire Black e90 that has the sports package. You will be impressed!

Kekimka, that's awesome....I'm very glad to hear that. Thanks for the vote of confidence on Sapphire Black.... I'm a big fan of metallic colours. I can't wait to see SB in the metal.... I need to hunt one down....my deeler has lots of Jet Black E90's but no Sapphire Black.... I don't know why....it's time to tour around other dealerships.

Thrill, check out the new black E90 posts that came out today.
These are Jet Black: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...p?t=287&page=5 This is a good comparison of Black Sapphire (shown on E60): http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...8&page=2&pp=22 I ordered Black Sapphire, and will take a bunch of pictures when i take delivery first week of June. I've had Jet Black before on my E46 and wanted something different, which is why i went with Sapphire. Its not as deep black as the Jet Black, but is a little lighter and shines a bit more because of the metallic. Thanks. nathan |

These are definitely Black Sapphire:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=128 See the last few 320iSE Pictures at the bottom of the page, shown with the front carbon fiber lips in the showroom. It almost looks a little like Monaco Blue, but its not, that's just the metallic black difference. I went to the dealership last week and didn't have my camera, but they had both Jet Black and Black Sapphire. Both look great. Nathan |

I was a little confused by all the Black E90's which have no description to indicate whether it's Jet Black or Sapphire Black. That 320 SE, I thought it was blue.... nevertheless I think Sapphire looks sweet... judging by the E60 and the 320 SE.... thanks very much for the clarification.... Remember to post pictures of your Sapphire Black E90.... I will probably have already fixed my order for Sapphire Black by then, but still it will be nice to see what's waiting for me.... I know a few Sapphire Black E46's ... but I don't want any surprises now, so I want to see how it looks in an E90...I've learnt my lesson from Sparkling Graphite which was my favourite in pictures...but turned out to be less than what I expected when I saw it in metal.... Thanks again... this has been very helpful. In your opinion, is Jet Black more prone to swirl marks than Sapphire Black? Or are they similarly prone?

Jet Black, undoubtedly is more prone to Swirls. However, if you wash and detail the car properly (see the whole Zaino thread), you won't have a problem.
I am going to put 5 coats of zaino on my E90 as soon as i get it. I already have all the stuff, just waiting for the car right now. |

Believe me, when you see these two side by side, they look nothing like each other...The Sapphire is awesome...I think its the contrast between the lights and wheels (and chrome window trim if applicable) that give it away..thats why the sapphire is so nice!!

I'm a big fan of metallic colours, so the point about Jet Black being more prone to swirl marks makes my choice even easier(i.e. SB).... but I acknowledge the fact that I will still have to put some preventative measures against swirl marks, even on Sapphire Black. I just need to find a good product that is comparable to Zaino, because I haven't been able to locate Zaino anywhere locally(South Africa).

Can't you buy Zaino on the internet and have it shipped to South Eff-Rica?

I'm now getting rid of a TiSilver BMW and have a Sapp Black on order. I keep worrying about keeping it clean....silver is SO EASY! But whenever I see the pics (as above) of the 330 in black I know I made the right decision. I guess the real problem is I can still change my order for a little while.......once that date passes I'll be fine.
