Nice! Would've loved to get brushed aluminum but my interior is grey/black so the aluminum would've blended too well with the grey.

Yes I think the contrast is important, so black trim would probably go great with lighter colors. Tischer/getBMWparts sells a gloss black trim set for about $695 (-$125 less for sedans):

Piano black is like $1,600 ... ouch:

I think it's more elegant, agreed; however I'm going for the sporty look. Going around a race track with wood trim just didn't do it for me.

Thanks - nothing beats the feel of metal. Brushed aluminum gets COLD ... it's the real deal.

You mean if I had to order the car again, would I get iDrive ... I don't know. It weighs a lot and also costs a lot. The screen would be cool for controlling audio and such. I haven't regretted not getting it.

Yeah I think with beige this brushed aluminum trim would not create enough contrast, so perhaps a black trim like I linked above would work best. CF would probably look killer but BMW Performance CF trim is like $1,700 ... I could not stomach that.

I could see piano black working well, I was also thinking of painting it monaco blue (body color)

Prob from un doing the seatbelt and when it swings over there it hits and puts pits in the trim

I have beige and I recently re-did my trip with a dark cf wrap, it looks good would highly recommend a dark material and the cf gives it that black/grey contrast.

Thank you sir, that's a very high compliment! Wait till you see what is going to happen with the suspension in a few weeks.

Yes this last HPDE is what pushed me over the edge - soon as I was done I ordered the aluminum trim.

I've seen before and after persoanally (I made fun of him for not having aluminum in the first place ) and the aluminum makes the interior fit with the steering wheel.

Wait till everyone sees your new shifter

Thats not a bad scenario, didnt think of that. However, i DID find a ton of animal hair deep down between the seat and console. Probably an area the vacuum couldnt reach.

Would you happen to still have the wood trim? For sale?

I could sell it - wasn't planning to but I'd hate to see someone pay full price for the wood trim.

What I have is for coupe non-idrive only - your profile says you have a sedan (?) in which case it wouldn't fit.
