no crank, no start

this is a bmw 335xi. FYI: GROUND CABLE IS SNAPPED BUT i tried bypassing it and it still wont crank and still wont start. it tries and pushes power but still wont crank. swapped batteries and it didnt change anything. just replaced the starter aswell. tried almost every method in the book and it wont crank. it dims all the lights not by much for a couple seconds and goes back to normal brightness.

It would be helpful if you posted the codes. Also, you need to do some basic potential measurements with a multimeter. I’m assuming you bonded the block to the ground post with a jumper cable. After doing that, measure the potential from the block to the positive terminal to make sure you are getting a proper ground (should be around 12V).
