Resurrecting this bad boy because I've gotten the same issue. I wanted to know if I got to change the front or rear main seal or both. Any way to test?

You don't need to change the seals, just the valve cover. You can test the valve cover easily: if the hose barb on the top/center is continuously sucking in air at idle, the cover is bad. Just lift the engine cover off, unclip the little cap protecting the hose barb, and then see if a piece of plastic film or tissue paper sticks to the tip of the barb.

Conversely, if the engine chirps continuously while parked you can open the oil cap and if the noise continues it is almost certainly *not* related to crank seals / PCV / valve cover. In this case it's probably a belt or ancillary.

Valve cover and gasket were already changed. Clip on YouTube with the same sound says it's the main seals. Not sure how to test it though, maybe a smoke test?
