Very nicely prepared car incidentally

I meant the CIC system in general - not just the nav, my fault for a poorly worded comment!

My understanding is the Combox will give me full postcode search (only have partial at present) for the nav and in addition to this, I will also have increased functions for the other elements of the CIC.

I think these other features are also part of the combo upgrade?

Bluetooth audio streaming
Better interface for media (album art covers etc)
Internet access

I think you can also add the BMW Apps with the Combox too?

I'm no expert, but I think I'd prefer the better functions over and above my current CIC system, which doesnt have the Combox

Me too! I had a set of the fronts on my E81, but this will be the 1st time I've experienced the full front and rear set up - should be a good upgrade hopefully!

OK, quick update for the bank holiday weekend!

Made a long drive today to meet fellow forum member Kris_t who by the way is a top bloke with a lovely car

We had agreed to swap my aluminium trim set for his Individual gloss black trim.

Kris swapped them over pretty quickly and I'm super chuffed with the end result, I think they look superb against the oyster leather and sapphire black paintwork.

Couple of pics:

I had the same colour combo in my S3 and it looks lovely with contrasting leather. I have black leather/ silver cube in the E91 currently but would still be tempted to swap for piano trim if the offer came up I think!

I can imagine it is quite dark with black leather too. I just think that with the lighter oyster leather it really pulls off the piano black well.

I also spent the afternoon giving the car a 'proper' clean. The dealer prep on this car was awful! 3 hours to get the interior to an 'acceptable' standard and similar on the exterior today....

Its also going in to have the full high gloss shadow line replaced at some point next week as it would seem the during the prep both sides have been damaged with a machine polisher.

The dealer says otherwise, however they are covering the cost of the parts to be fair to them

Oyster with piano black is a great combo and one of my favourites. You must be chuffed!

What kind of work is needed to get that BBK fitted? You've got me looking at sets now!

Yeh it is a great combo - looks very upmarket in there now!

Love the inlay on the Individual trims too - lovely bit of detail!

For the 135i / BMW Performance brakes (they are the same calipers just different colours) it seems that the following is true:

Fronts - bolt on with 6 piston caliper and 338 x 26mm disc (either the plain faced disc from 135i or the drilled and slotted BMW Performance version)

Rear - this is different depending on which E9x you own, and even then which model you have.. some models can't accept the rear caliper / disc.

Looking on the ETK, for my car, the rear caliper fits, but in conjunction ONLY with the BMW Performance disc - which is 324x22mm (part no: 34216795755)

Thanks - really happy with the car!

Tried to change the angel eye bulbs today and I've ended up with lacerated hands & no bulbs changed!

Gave up after getting the 1st bulb out & then new new one refusing to go in. So put the original back & gave it up as a bad job.

I'm not putting LED's in, just slightly whiter halogens. Had them on my 1 series & changing them was a doddle as the door on the back of the lamp was big, the one on the 3 series lools to be designed for people with child hands!!!

I'll have to get the dealers to do it at some point

Lol. My hands are ruined too for the same reason. Take a look at my posts here which may help you. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=951698&page=29

Thank you - I have to say the Touring is a great looking car

I want to look into lowering it - but not sure on the best route to take?

Any advice from people who've done it?

I agree the E91 is the best combination. Here mine with exterior chrome and rails.

You will find a ton of advice and opinions in other threads, but it really revolves around how much you want to spend?

I find there seems to be an overwhelming sense on the UK e90 forum that springs and shocks are the way to go, but personally I'd spend the money (and have several times in the past) on a height (and damping ideally) adjustable coilover kit, purely for the luxury of being able to get the car exactly how I want it. I had a TT with Koni coilover on it and they were superb. I have also run KW that were very similar.

Out of interest, how many miles has your car done?

If you want a decent handling car with not too drastic drop then have a look at Eibach Pro springs
