MY 2007 (E93) 335I Trunk lid will not pull down and lock, it latches and will unlatch on the keyfob or key. It displays a trunk open warning, also the hardtop cannot be lowered
with this error. I have checked for blown fuses, but the pull down motors do not appear to have their own protected circuit. I suspect a microswitch failure when it latches, to signal the pulldown motors. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as i'm sure this is not a unique failure |

E93 Roof Question
Where the rear and main panels of the roof meet, there is a little tab in the joint. The left side does not go flush when closed any more. The right side looks close enough to flush. Anyone see this? Any ideas if this is a tale tell sign of something ugly coming?
In this pic, the left side is at the top and the right side is at the bottom. https://1drv.ms/i/s!AvjVM_YpYMRak9RyaqmVNywSE9YF3A

Is this inside or outside the car? I'm guessing you replaced the battery in the fob.

My convertible top is securely closed. But the car keeps saying it's not locked and so when I'm driving the constant gonging is driving me crazy. The top doesn't work anymore and won't budge. Also, the trunk won't open because it thinks the top isn't locked in.
Short term: I want to kill the warning gongs Long term: I want to fix the hard top

Hey Guys, I have an 08 E93 M3 and the roof is giving me a problem out of the blue. I went to put the top down and it folded up and went into the trunk as usual and the trunk lid started to close but stopped about 10 inches from closing. I cant get it up or down any further from here. If i give it a little push up it will start to work and the top will come out of the trunk and the lid will start to close but stops again 10-12 inches from closed.
The 2 salmon relays are good. Trunk is 100% empty and divider is closed. Tops speed is good and fluid looks to be full. No leaks anywhere. I have lubed all the hinges also. No codes on my reader and getting the 401 error msg on dash with the BC button. Switch is blinking red and a red top malfunction error on dash. Seems like these thing have about 37 hall sensors and microswitches so narrowing this down could be a PITA!!! I have read all the posts here and other forums also but nothing i try has worked. Any help or insight will be greatly appreciated!! |

Check Engine Light is on
Hi, i don't know much about BMW's yet but i do own a 2011 BMW 335is e93 DCT. Recently, the check engine light has come on. it's the yellow check engine light indicating that the engine is using only half power. The symptoms i have experienced are:
• RPM's go a little higher than usual when switching gears • Significant Less Power I ran the codes, and this is what i found: 2AAF Fuel Pump, plausibility 30FF Turbocharger, boost pressure too low HPFP: 48.63 Bar LPFP: 4.68 Bar ENGINE COOLANT (°c): 103.50 N43 Target Value: Idle speed: 150 Bar N54 Idle (Pressure stabilizes 30 seconds after engine start) Target value: 50 Bar N53 Engine Temperature < 65°C and Engine Speed < 1000rpm Target Value: 150 bar N53 Engine Temperature < 65°C and Engine Speed > 2000rpm Target Value: 180 bar N53 Engine Temperature > 70°C Target Value: 200 bar Can anyone tell me what this means? i'm really trying to figure this out and i need to know EXACTLY what i need to fix before i purchase anything... thank you! |

2011 E93
The trunk divider locks into the down position allowing the top to operate. BUT, when flipping the divider up it does not lock into position like it used to. A soft 'landing' close to the full up position. It can drop down with acceleration. I cannot see any restrictions. Waz up with this? Thanx |

Hi everyone, new here (first forum joined ever lol). I have a 2013 335i xdrive manual coupe (which I plan to eventually turn into an AWD M3) w/ around 75K miles, bought CPO at 30K, and started getting grinding from 1st to 2nd recently. I replaced the clutch and broke it in, but still getting grinding at higher RPM shifts. I’m definitely no expert, but from what I’ve read, it seems like it could be a synchromesh issue.
Can someone please help me out? Need to know possible problems and solutions... Last edited by Balla’sBMW; 03-06-2020 at 07:06 PM.. |

E92 SE coupe 2006
Hello
I see here many posts on the E92, however there are many variants on this model, for example the writer has an E92 se coupe 2006 2 door. and wishes to find some litrature on the optical conductors installed on this model, as it appears they were only installed on the coupe and then some later models. During changing the rear speakers on the writers coupe the optical conductor fractured and now needs replacing, the new part has been ordered however there are no posts on how to reinstall this item, if any can answer this question the writer would be gratful. |
