I would imagine you will certainly have traction issues with 4.1 gearing even with accelerating from 40 kph.

By my calculations, with the 4.1 ratio diff gears, at 60kph, your car will be doing 3,600rpm in 1st and 2,000 rpm in 2nd. At 80kph, it will be 4,800rpm in 1st and 2,600rpm in 2nd. At 100kph, it will be 3,300rpm in 2nd. It should accelerate well from 100kph at those revs Brule.

Put the diff in the car but pinion nut is hitting driveshaft by 3mm. Its a new nut so I need to see if its longer or whats going on.

Heres a log from roll racing.
4.1 gears will probably be 7000rpm by the finish line.
Its never really below 3000rpm ever.

I stuffed up. Im embarrassed but I've fixed it. I was about to tear up but I just sucked it tore it down and rebuilt it.

Had to pull it all apart due to my incompetence.

It's back to the stage of about to put the diff cover on then back into the car.

Put the diff cover on this morning and about 5 minutes after doing it I realised it still had about 100ml of oil in the diff (cleaning it with brake cleaner then putting oil through it). The gasket needs 24 hours to be oil resistant. That means I couldnt move the diff or install it or the oil would have run into fresh gasket sealant making a leak. I pulled the cover off again and cleaned the oil out. Im getting pretty quick at building these diffs now after stuffing up so many times.

Diffs in, driveshaft is on, axles in, all rear arms are on except 1 toe arm.

I stripped the thread in the hub. Going to get a bolt 10mm longer and put a nut on it.

If it is dodgy after a few runs I'll have to take the hub off and weld a nut or weld a stud on it. I cant just drill it out and go a size up due to the toe arm size.

Bit of a bummer but its got one wheel on and just need to get a bolt and nut tomorrow and it's right to go. And add oil to the diff.

Best mod ive done in a long time.

Started laughing it goes unreal.

Got all that torque feeling back like its got a set of RB turbos in it.

Definitley has alot more torque. Easier to drive around town. Pulls alot harder.

Im overly happy this will make a massive difference. Just had my front no brand tyres in it and they are probably at 40psi and yes you can light up the rears near 100km.

Im so pumped that a $419 has totally changed the car for the better.

Your car should go well in rolling racing as long as you can maintain traction at 40kph. The Zero to 60 guys who now have Dan's 9s E90 took it out to roll racing a week or so ago and it was spinning the ET Street tyres on take off. It is still running the 3.46 gearing in the diff.

Yea I have been lucky to just floor it with no grip issues before. The track here is a beautiful surface which helps.

I will ramp the boost in slower so I can maintain traction. Looking at logs its a 17psi spring. Ill try map 6 and slowly ramp in boost

The difference is unreal. Rb turbo torque down low and single top end power. No waiting just floor it and it moves

I really cant wait to test with dragy. You can feel more g forces on 20psi then I was on 26psi before.

Is there any possibility that a drag racing event will occur in Darwin in the near future? It would be great to see how it would go down the strip although the gearing maybe to low. 3.5 diff gearing would be required for the strip. Your draggy will give an indication of what would happen over the 1/4.

They have an event in around 6 weeks.

Not sure, all online calculators vary.

Might to a small run soon. Trust me im super keen but its not safe or smart doing a 1/4 on the road.

I agree with the safety concern. Getting up to 130-140mph should only be done on the track.

Went for a few little rips.

Put it in map 3 on jb4. (Target 20psi boost)

Had the same fuel and boost settings from my 6266.

Did 2 runs and it over boosted to 24psi before closing the throttle.

Ill adjust settings and get it back on target.

Midrange available torque is alot more and needs more tyre. When I was in 2nd gear wuth 3.08 it was always foot to the floor ni grip issues ever. This has enough power to the ground I need to be carefull as it can light up.

I have not even checked pressures but put re003 back on it 245 40 17s which arent going to hold it anyway.

Went for a drive with the aim of getting boost on target.

Took 2 short runs and adjusted duty to hold 20psi.

Did a few 1/8th runs.
No et improvement as the grip just isnt there.
Around 2mph slower on 20psi now with a 6466 compared to 26psi on the 6266.

Turbo sounds nice spooling away at 20psi.
