whatever... google says different plus neither one takes into account that going down i-90 instead of i-94 saves you about 30 min in traffic around milwaukee to get to Chicago.

I know how long it takes, I drive back and forth several times a month and have for 3 yrs now.

I'm not against whirlyball... just saying its not something I'd come in to town to do specifically. If you guys set it up and I happen to be home that weekend then I'm sure I'll end up coming.

Fair enough, but it never takes you to 94. Most of the drive is on 39/90 to 12. I think that is the time difference.

At any rate, sounds like there are at least three of us up in the northern burbs, no?

My wife drives to Madison twice a month for work. 2 hours even to Madison from Round Lake. Round Lake to Vernon Hills - 20 mins. And she drives a mini van. Sorry if I insulted your driving prowess, but you are wrong on that one. It'll happen from time to time.

FYI, there's nothing brewing here... I'm just trying to let you know my side of stuff, what it takes me to drive and all that. If it were you coming up here, I wouldn't tell you how long your drive is, especially if you make it 6 times each way every month. I'm not mad or anything, like I said... just letting you know my side of it from my experience. Yes if I got 85 it takes about 2 hrs to 294/Dempster exit but I was also just saying I'm not really that into whirlyball to make the trip out for just that, so you guys can go for it. I was also trying to tell you how I go home to Glenview as I don't think you were taking into account that I'd be going there 1st, even if I did come for whirlyball.. I wouldn't be driving straight there to Vernon Hills or wherever.

I will admit I was a little offended that you kinda took the whole meet thing as more of a "hey instead of a go karting meet that seth and johan are planning, lets go to whirlyball instead". No you didn't say it like that, but thats kinda how I took it. I am in no way trying to be the undisputed alpha male or anything. I just know a group of us went karting, enjoyed it and had planned to try and make it back there this winter, possibly with a larger group. If you don't want to join us, just as I might not for whirlyball, then thats totally up to you.

And the amaturematch.com comment was directed at the humor in you asking Woodn if he wanted to go out to lunch or a "martini"... sorry if that offended you. It's just when I picture two guys hanging out to talk shop about cars and shit, its not really over a cosmopolitan, ya know? Whirly ball was never meant to be instead of...always in addition to. Once we started talking winter meets, and things were getting thrown out, I threw out Whirlyball. Its a long winter. I didn't like 1 of the 2 choices and instead of complain and do nothing, I was offering to take initiative and help plan an event. I did it all the time for my region, but fuck if I'm going to now.

FTR, men like Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra drink martini's and like mixed drinks, women like the Sex in the City chicks drink cosmos, children drink beer. When you grow up, you'll realize that. Ohhh....

No worries, no harm no foul. I know Dean and Frank drank Martini's but they also didn't do it talking about intercoolers and blow off valves. A macho, man talk about cars will forever be linked into my mind with a cold PBR or some shit like that. But I do agree. I mostly tolerate (not drink) beer, I'd prefer alcohol to beer most times. Maybe not a Martini, but I'm game for a nice class of scotch or something when I do have a drink (rare).
