Unfortunately I did not have a very good experience with Luxury Auto Xchange and would not recommend buying from them especially if you are unable to see the car for yourself. I purchased a 2009 BMW 535i and was told that the car was in perfect condition as I was unable to see the car before purchasing it since I was located in California. The mistake is that I took the salesman's word on the condition of the car. When I received the car, it had small nicks as scratches that were not excessive, but it was frustrating because I was told that there were none. However, that was the least of my concerns as I have been trying to get a couple of simple elements corrected. The car was delivered with an owners manual for a different year car which makes it challenging to program my car since the manuals are significantly different from 2009 and 2010. Additionally, they needed to send the hold down clamps for the front mats. These seem pretty minor, but getting anyone to respond has been virtually impossible.
The bigger issue is that the rear window defroster doesn't work and when you turn it on it cuts out the radio. When I took it to my local dealership, they stated that the connection to the back window was cut when the window tint was removed. The cost to fix it, $1600. As you can imagine, no one will return my emails to address the issue, even the owner that said it would be taken care of. I would chock up this experience as a bad one and would not recommend this dealership. |

Wow, buying a car out of state, sight unseen...don't have the balls for that. At least it wasn't hit or anything. Still sucks, sorry to hear.

Luxury Auto XChange
Run, don't walk away from this dealership.
Luxury is the internet arm of Perillo. . .and, ostensibly. should be reputable. I bought a 5 series from them. They actively concealed the fact that it was a lemon "buy-back" car. When I found out, they misrepresented the nature of the lemon complaint. The repairs which they promised, and represented, were never made by Perillo/Luxury, and had to be made post-delivery. Once Luxury recieved funds, they refused to provide title. Investigations with the Illinois Attorney General, the Illinois Department of Motor Vehicles, the Illinois Division of Dealer Licensing, the Illinois Department of Consumer Protection, the Utah Department of Motor Vehicles, and the California Department of Motor Vehicles were initiated. . .and finally resulted in the conveyance of title. Scott Small was a classic "say anything to get the sale" kind of salesman. George Chiarelli, his boss, was intransigent and uncommunicative. Don't even consider doing business with this outfit. |

Bad Experience with Luxury Auto Xchange in Alsip, Illinois
I have first hand experience with Luxury Auto Exchange in Alsip, Illinois.
I bought a car from Luxury Auto Xchange with low miles a clean car fax and still under warranty. The car had major problems that were not disclosed. Probably was in an undislcosed accident as well. Some problems were not covered under warranty due previous tampering by non BMW personnel (also undisclosed). From my experience would NOT RECOMMEND anyone do any business with Luxury Auto Exchange in Alsip, Illinois. |

Be VERY CAREFUL with them because most of their cars are "buy back" vehicles from CA and they won't tell you that up front. Somehow, they manage to scrub the titles so it won't necessarily have the comment "buy back" or " lemon law car" but this will still show up on a car fax and makes the car pretty much unsaleable in the future.

Wow, glad I came across this thread - I was just at this dealership a couple hours ago. I almost bought a 328i coupe but didn't b/c I already have plans to look at a by-owner CPO this weekend. If I do decide to look into this dealership I'll for sure take the car somewhere to have it checked out. Thanks! Found this thread on google by accident even though I browse e90post all the time - what a lucky coincidence

Thanks for this thread. Was considering buying a vehicle from these guys. Glad I didn't go down this road. Sounds like they really need to be put out of business to say the least.

Avoid them. They are scammers.
I can bet you anything this guy is someone from Luxury Auto Exchange. I have done some extensive research on this place. What they do is purchase cars that were in an accident but with a clean title, repair it and sell it as never been in an accident. AVOID them. George Chiarelli, Joe Rimicci. George calls himself the general manager but he is the owner. Don't believe me? check the registration of their website's url.
