Michelin PS 4S thoughts

Just got Michelin 4s on each corner and now I can feel the body roll when taking corners, or feel the suspension or springs being softer. Is that normal or could that be the non run flat soft sidewalls? I was running the OEM Bridgestone RFTs prior to this. Boy are these tires quiet! I can hear suspension clunks and noises now where I haven't heard before

It's very real and totally normal. I experienced the same thing when I bought new wheels and tires. Everyone agrees the run flat tires are garbage.
Does the ride feel like a boat on the water? This is why everyone starts switching to m3 subframe bushings, control arms, and sway bars

This was the same experience I had. Switched from RFT all-seasons to PS4s on lighter Apex wheels and it really highlighted how compromised the stock sport suspension is on these cars. From my understanding, the stock sport suspension is under damped and over sprung to help the ride quality with stock run flat tires while still feeling sporty.

It only took me a couple months after swapping wheels and tires before I swapped my suspension out.

On 193m wheels

I have dinan springs which I thought were a bit stiff or stiffer than msport springs but now the rear DO feel soft! Cray cray.

Does anyone know if rebounds need to be readjusted when tires are stickier? I'm thinking of keeping the rear corners more planted etc

Give it a few hundred km to full scrub off any coatings before judging it.

Okay. When the coatings wear off is it usually better or worse? Newb here.

The PO had Michelin Sport Run Flats and after two years I replaced them with PS4S. I did go up one size to 235/40/18 and 265/35/18 and it felt a little better in stability and ride. I have had them for three months and 3K miles and I am impressed. Unfortunately, I picked up a screw in the rear right but it was easily plugged and haven't had an issue. I'd try adding 2-3 pounds of air as recommended and see if that feels better. So far, I'm having no problems with 32 and 36lbs on front and back.

With most tyres it gets much better.
I have not had much seat time with PS4S but they are OE tyres on some powerful cars so I'd expect them to be decent.
I did spend a year with PS4 and never found the bliss that a lot of people seemed to rave about. General consensus with the PS4 was that the soft/thin sidewalls favour comfort over sporty handling.

As others have pointed out, it could also be just the sudden change from RFT to non RFT. The factory suspension is tuned for RFT.

Garage List
more grip = more lateral acceleration = more roll

softer sidewall versus RFT = feels like more body roll

totally normal.
