Great to see this thread enjoying a return.

I've had my UK 330i M Sport manual for nearly 2 years now and it's been fab. Bar the cursed water pump going, it's been mega reliable from the 72k miles at which I bought it, to the 103k it's on now.

As it's been well behaved, it's had a few upgrades along the way...

On the outside I ditched the cheesy M Power number plate trims straight away - see 3 pages back. I bought a good rear wheel to replace one which had previously cracked and been welded, then had all 4 refurbished and freshened up with new centre caps, M logos, and even original BMW tyre valves. A huge 'Thanks for being reliable. Have a treat!' to the car was the M Performance brake kit. The last little things outside - for now, anyway! - are Darkline rear lights, black kidney grilles, and yellow 'Euro' style front fogs.

While it was generally really good inside, a few things needed some TLC. The kick plates had delaminated, the rear air vent surround was scuffed, and there were a load of marks on the driver's storage box. So, they were all replaced.

Hidden away inside is the Alpine Audio kit, along with Logic7 subs and Logic7 parcel shelf speakers I picked up from the States. I put some cheapo beige mats in too, which will definitely be replaced early next year once winter's out the way.

A few weeks ago the old CCC nav started playing up. Much like the one in my old 535d, it's started to stick in a boot loop and generally didn't work. While the nav itself wasn't up to much, a 140 mile commute with no music grated a bit! That was a good opportunity to upgrade to CIC. That was coded ready to go, and amazingly for me, I managed to fit it myself without breaking anything, electrocuting myself, or setting the car on fire! To freshen things up a little bit more, I bought an LCI climate control unit to bag some shiny silver knobs (oo-er!) and fitted a silver start button too.

Waiting on the cover panel for the CIC but I'm not in a rush, as I'd like to fit an LCI glovebox so I can properly route the USB connection through, wihout having to guess at where to drill holes for cable routing!

From an upgrades perspective, it's having a set of Koni FSD's fitted tomorrow. Having crossed the 100k mark, and with M Sports notoriously running pretty hard, the FSD's should be a tasty update.

After that, as long as it carries on behaving, wheels and Xenon's are my next thoughts.

Hehe! I feel inadequate now with my M Perf brakes...

...though I'm in a 330i, so don't have too much grunt to manage!

Cheers! Yeah, the original steering wheel trim - and gear knob as well - were getting a bit tired, so I picked up the M Performance Alcantara bits. They look decent but don't half attract dust!

After some reading around I'm happy to +1 the Koni FSDs. Haven't done that many miles on them yet, but so far they've been a nice upgrade. They're not cheap, but as this has been so so reliable it gets a treat every so often!

Here's my SGM with a black vinyl roof. Not an E90, but you get the idea. TBH from most angles it's difficult to tell the roof is black. Unlike on a white car for example...

You are right about that hard to tell. I live around a lot of pine trees, just trying to protect my paint on my roof and I was hoping to get some character added to the car.

If it's protection you want, why not just go for clear wrap?

Thanks for the kind words! It's definitely hard to believe the car is 14 years old. Runs great and still fun to drive! What are you driving now?

Here's a few of the new wheel/diffuser setup.

I have got an E90 325i Sparkling Graphite. Really love how the color of the car matches with the black kidney grille and tinted rear window. Will probably chrome-delete the window trim soon as well!
