In Praise of the 230 Wheel

The 230 style wheel came with my 2012 E92 M-Sport package. I cannot find a wheel that BMW produced, before or since, that looks any better to me. The 5-spoke design looks strong, but the spokes also have a slight curve that give them a dynamic character. Also very easy to clean! Here they are after a recent detailing; enjoy.

Had those on my spacegray e92 and was stupid enough to sell them. I run CSL's and M225 now, but I keep looking back...

It's a wheel that grows on you.

When I purchased my car all of the pics the seller sent me and listed with had these wheels on the car. I was 1k miles away and had my uncle complete the purchase for me. When I flew in to pick it up the car had the 189's on it!!! I argued with the seller about it as they claimed I was wrong and the car had the 18 inch 189's on it the entire time. I love the 230's but purchased some 313M wheels in 19 inch instead. Haven't installed them yet and I've given serious thought to ditching them and trying to grab the 230's.

Very clean, simple and elegant wheels in my opinion!! Especially on our space gray cars!!

The 230 is my favorite wheel design from BMW ever made!!! I searched for months till I finally came across a set and slapped them on my E90. I must say tho, on darker color cars they look way better. Sadly my car is silver lol.

There are a lot of beautiful OEM wheels... M359, M313, M225, M163... the Style 230s are just criminally underrated.

I love them! Very underrated, as are many OEM BMW wheels. When my old man ordered his E92 335i back in like '07, he had these. Carbon Black, Coral red. I wish I could figure out what his VIN was on that thing to track it down.
