This is not beyond the realm of possibilities. The E92 flywheel is dual mass. It has 2 parts to it and dampening springs to absorb driveline shock.

If anyone ever finds a "cure", please share. It's a little annoying to hear the clatter noise on a $40+K car. And why was there not this issue on the E46 or E36? Did those cars not have lightweight flywheels?

I wonder if the '09 E90/E92 continue to have this noise.
