M Sport suspension deletion

Guy's, I've found a lci e91 335d msport I'm interested in, and the spec quotes as having 'M Sport suspension deletion'. Am I right in thinking this is an msport with se suspension?

Cheers.

Hmm, being used to msport suspension, I wonder how it compares. Is there a significant change!

335d se has m sport suspension as standard the lci m sport suspension is so much better than pre lci and personally i wouldnt have a car without it. the se suspension as found in the 330se is too soft and uncontrolled for my liking

SE (M sports delet) is very comfortable even on RFTs.
I went for M sports suspension. Car feels firmer around the corners but on the compromise of comfort.

Hi folks,

I saw a 335i m sport coupe yesterday with what must have been the SE / m sport delete chassis. Gap all round between wheel arches and tyres looked odd as it was too much. Almost looked like a 4 x 4 !

Just my 2p worth......

Probably more in keeping with a 'touring' shape.

I have moved from SE to M sports.
M sports is defo better especially around the corners. However comfort is compromised, especially on 19s.

If the rest of the car is right then just swap the suspension for eibach pro/bilsteins..

How did you find the Performance Suspension on your old 335D compared to the LCI setup ?

the perf was definately harder and more jiggly but it cornered as if it was on rails. the lci is midway between the two and perfectly adequate for the road to the extent where i havent even considered fitting perf suspension. the pre lci suspension i think was awful. it jiggled and was crashy and hopped over bumps when cornering and was uncomfortable with the runflats. i read somewhere bmw had altered the shocks on the lci and this has given it much better control.

As said above the LCI M Sport suspension setup is much improved over the pre-LCI. I've had both and the pre is painfully uncomfortable. A lot of people seem to change to non-run flats in a bid to improve the ride.

The LCI M Sport ride is far more comfortable, even with the same Bridgestone run flats. But the good thing is the handling has not been compromised whatsoever.
Given the choice I'd recommend an LCI every time and worth the extra for the newer car.

I've had an M-Sport E90 for four years and yes the ride is a little rough with the suspension but not too bad.

Two months ago I changed to an E92 LCI, this had m-sport suspension deletion on but it didn't put me off because the rest of the spec was spot on. I figured I would just change it at some point...

However now I'm not so sure I would change it. Ride is so so much better on 19's. It's actually a comfortable car to be in. Ride height did put me off at first and is maybe the only reason to change... You get used to the looks though and it's not that bad. I'll get a pic on sometime if I can

dbramley,

When you make the switch, its worth talking to the guys at Birds.

My LCI Msport touring's ride was, IMO, cr@p on its OEM setup.

First I switched the tyres from RFT to non-RFT and that helped the ride initially.

Then took the plunge and went the whole with Birds and not looked back since.

Ride is far better than OEM Mport c/w RFT's and have car that handles like its rails on both road and on the few trackdays I've taken it to.

I'm on PS3 michelins and OEM MV3 alloys.

+1 for Birds

Birds suspension transforms car better comfort than msport and holds the road like you wouldn't believe.
