Cool BMW Performance Exhaust installed

Link is to the vid on my FB page. Hope it works

Exhaust installed. Only got this crappy iPhone vid, really need to invest in a proper Video Camera with a better mic. Sounds a lot nicer in person

A lot louder and more aggressive without being offensive. Also burbles nicely at idle and when you lift off.

Go out and listen to yours then come back and watch the vid again and you'll hear the difference. Just wish I had a decent Video Camera as my iDrone doesn't do it justice at all

The sound is fairly similar to the Bastuck I think. But not as deep on low rpm.
Does the BMWP unit keep the pneumatic flap on the N/S poo tube?

Certainly does. Unfortunately can't be ragging the nuts off it in my street

Probably true but this was only off my phone and it sounds quite a bit different in person. Was turning heads in Aberdeen today anyway. Just need to get it lowered and get my wheels ordered so it looks the part.

Thanks mate. Now if I can get mine to look half as good as yours then I'll be sorted.

Don't mind at all. I was fortunate to get mine off eBay second hand so only paid £560 + Shipping. I think that they are £1150 from BMW Direct.

Fitting cost £45 from a local custom exhaust center and I was £45 for the 2 clamps that you will need to get from BMW.

Hope this is of use to you

The only thing that stops me from getting one is that the tips stick out too far and sit too low in every video / picture I have seen (also in person)
I don't know if it is the angle on your video but it looks like stock. Is that really the case ?
Did you specifically ask for a stock like alingment ? I wonder if that is possible.

Sounds great, maybe a touch loud for my liking, but difficult to tell accurately from video. I thought mine (Stillen) was too loud at first but soon acclimatised to it and now love it. Does yours improve the bhp or is it purely noise. I get an extra 18bhp (as it's free-er flowing) and combined with lower weight is really noticeable - even boosted my mpg by 1

Th pipes themselves are the same diameter as the Stock items, only difference there is the tips are straight cut and not rolled. As with the stock exhaust it does sit a little low for the cut outs but I'm working on a solution for that. As for the way mine sits in regards to your comment they stick out a little further than standard but not too much.

It is loud without being offensive. Sounds bad in the video but I am in a built up area and floored it in 1st which for some reason sounds different than every other gear. This exhaust does slightly improve BHP and throttle response but not 18 BHP's worth. I'm guessing that was a quote from the manufacturer which I'd take with a fairly large pinch of salt. No offense meant but I've been tuning cars for quite some time now and have never seen gains like that from a back box alone unless combined with an Induction kit or cat delete IMHO. Who knows though, it may be correct. My MPG has gone down slightly but that's most likely due to my driving now there's some bark to it

I've not dyno'd it, and am frankly no expert, so you may well be right. You've got me thinking now so will see what I can find out from the Zed forum. Yes, I noticed you were in a built-up area, so that doesn't help so much to give an overall opinion. Got any photos before (actually, I'll have my own) and after??

That SOUNDS SICK!!!

lovin it!! well done on such a cool mod.. extremely envious.

I'm shocked that that is from just changing the back box alone! (it was just the back box was it not?)

ps who gives a monkeys about the gain in horses, it sounds too good to even give a toss!

Yeah just the back box alone. Haven't installed any other tuning parts yet

Do you think it would have a similar sound to it on a 330d?
