2011 BMW 335i N55 E92 boost issues

New to turbo vehicles and would really appreciate any help. I have the N55 and the diverter valve is on the turbo and if I was having issues with that would the boost change and really never stay the same, for a example my boost gauge will say zero boost at wot and I let off and get in the pedal East and I will build some kind off boost. Had Indy shop do smoke test and they tell me the Pcv valve on valve cover is leaking it's bad. But from what I'm told that won't affect my boost levels in the way I have been noticing. Please any knowledge is better then no knowledge.

So in a nutshell, the purpose of the diverter valve is to vent excess boost when the throttle is closed (which occurs when shifting or releasing the gas). A bad PCV valve would severely impact acceleration as the purpose of that is to control the amount of gas going into the intake. If it's building pressure when there is no throttle, it means that it's probably surging which is bad. I would get a second opinion about the diverter, but your going to want to get that PCV valve fixed.

Thank you very much for your knowledge, I bought the Pcv valve that is the hack fix by just replacing it and not the entire valve cover but I'm thinking the best route is to replace the entire valve cover so I don't mess anything else up
