BMW 328i 2007 SPARK PLUG QUESTIONS

Hello,

I am gonna DIY spark plug change on my 2007 328i

Which spark plug model should I purchase? I live in canada if that matters

Which socket extensions will I require, is 10inch enough?

Do I need a torque wrench?

Thanks

Ngk or Bmw
Regular spark plugs socket
10inch is overkill but sure
If you are not comfortable with torquing it by hand use torque wrench to make sure you don’t over torque them and strip the threads.

Should I buy the OEM spark plug, NGK laser iridium ILZFR6D11

I heard platinum or copper are better, even though they dont last as long

is this true?

Go NGK, which is OEM or BMW plugs. Don't bother with others. Original plugs are meant to last 100k miles, so that says a lot about quality. (i would not run them more than 60k if you want to keep your car running in top notch form).

He has 328 which does not require thin socket. BMW turbo engines require thin walled socket.
