my wheels are 16.5lbs - with the tires, they are around 4xlbs if I remember correctly.

Hey Guys ,

What are your thoughts on the rsr-r in front and rsr-rr in the rear. Square set up mainly for dd. absolutely no track and maybe one drag event a yr.

Considering a mix just due to the noise level for dd.

most comments about noise are within the first 1-3k miles of use. I just put on a fresh set of Hankook z221's and I said "holy shit these are the noisiest tires I have ever owned," and I remember saying the exact same thing about RS-RRs. 1 month later and they are just a quiet as a regular tire (less the rocks they pick up when hot).

Thank you for the review. Is the mix aside from the noise concern a good idea. The car is a RWD and not tracking.

Since they are street tires being driven on the street I doubt it would be of any concern. Just expect more under-steer due to having less mechanical grip up front.

Why would you even do this though? wear? I don't see ANY advantage to doing this unless you wanted more rear grip for straight line racing on the street...

Good points. And I don't even "race" on the streets. Will do a full out square setup.

Thanks.

Mine are at the end of life with about 25K+ Highway miles. And they are STILL loud.

I had the opportunity to try the Nankang NS2R you sold me on the track. They aren't as fast as the Federal but they are a lot quieter. A lot more quieter actually. Also they show less wear although they are only 140tw. Probably pretty compatible with Hankook RS4 tw200 just little cheaper.

I take it back - the are definitely quieter now that they used to be, but they are still loud.

Old thread I know, but I'm looking to get a set of these but where in the HELL do I buy these from? Neither discount tire, NTB, pepboys or Sam carries Federal tires.

Yeah I was just hoping for a tire shop that sold them. Also, I just saw they have a federal 595 rs pro, seems to be a little more streetable.

I dont go to the track and dont drive the car a ton. I like taking it on country back roads that are twisty, but I have to drive about 30 miles or so to get to them and I like taking it to work from time to time on a nice day.
