My car was finished the end of August and has been at port since 9/2, how long did you guys have to wait on "Awaiting Transport"? :mad:

My car's breakdown:
9/5 Finished production
9/7 Released to a carrier awaiting transportation to the port of exit
9/8 At the port awaiting a shipping vessel. Shipping info N/A at this time
9/10 Received at terminal
9/11 Loaded on the Patriot
9/13 Phone system finally switched to "vehicle is now in transit"

That's odd if your car was done end of August and hasn't shipped... mine started production 9/1

Spoke to my sa today about the storm. He says it rare that a storm will delay a ship. A very bad storm 1 day, maybe. The Patriot should come into port on Sunday, 24.

I thought all east coast BMWs got off at the NY port untill my CA told me mine is getting off at Charleston,SC on 9/30. Then a week or 2 till it gets to my dealer. He is estimating it should be at the dealer around Oct 11th. Oh the wait

Is your SA the only person who can tell you for sure where your car is getting off the boat? I guess I assumed NY--but if it is in SC, then it will be another week!!! :mad:

When I put my VIN # into the field and hit track I get message saying that there is no info for this cargo ID. I spoke to my dealer and my car is on the Emden which is headed to South Carolina, also it says im in transit on the BMW USA page. Why isn't my VIN working!!?

Mine said the 30th and the shipping web site says the 30th. I would not expect it early. If anything it maybe delayed a day because of that friggin' hurricane out in the Atlantic. I hope they have those cars strapped down good!!

I would believe the website. The Patriot is due into Baltimore on the 28th. Perhaps the SA was looking at the schedule and misred it. Regardless, I would go with the shipping company, unless the Patrior gets into NYC early, in which case he might be right.

Finally another update. It looks like the Patriot will be able to sneak around the hurricane.

My car finished production today and is heading to beamerheven. There is a ship leaving tomorrow and on the 25th. Any chance i can get on either of those ships. I know u guys have a vast knowledge about tracking these cars and timing.

My car was on the dock for about 3 days before getting on a ship--so the 25th might be a little more realistic--but who knows, maybe there won't be many cars in front of you and you get on the one leaving tomorrow.

Car needs a couple days to get to Bremerhaven...your car will be on the ship leaving the 25th.

Does the weekend affect the transport from the plant to beamerhaven or do the trucks run throught the weekend? So should I be worried about missing the boat that leaves on the 25th?

My car left for beamerhaven sometime today.

Edit: If I get on the 25th Boat it is supposed to get into the states on the 14th. I live in Dallas and am flying back to chicago to pick up the car on the 19th, then have dinner with an ex GF on the 19th, then going to a college reunion on 20th-22nd where i have dinner with my college ex GF, then have to get the car shipped to dallas by sunday afternoon. Then Flying back to dallas. I have no car for that weekend besides the e92 335i which would be a nice car to be driving for those events. Also all my mods are going to be waiting at the dealership to be put by for that weekend.

If I can get on the boat tomorrow all my worries will be solved. But prolly wont happen.

Maybe I am selfish for wanting it by that exact weekend but I think I have a few valid reasons to want it sooo bad by then.

Trains run all the time...you should make the 25th...your CA can probably confirm on the 24th...if not you will make the next one...a year from now you won't care that it came a week late...
