I was thinking of signing up for a free 2 week trial on AISLive, but I was waiting so that the 2 weeks would cover the rest of the trip. I'll let you all know if I succeed.

On the boat
The delership said my car was on the Hual Africa after I looked up some information to compare to the OC and told them it was probably on the Sagitarius Leader or the Hual Africa. Here is a website that might be of some use for others looking for their car:
http://www.dbh.de/index.php?id=151&L...0061230&menu=% Order date 10/2/2006. Completed production 11/13/2006. On the boat 11/23/2006. Montego Blue, beige cream leather, manual 6 speed, sport package, premium package, cold weather package, comfort access, parking sensors. |

Welcome to the Hual scottwww.
I have a feeling that being outside of Calif., we are going to be hard pressed to get our cars by Xmas. We can always hope though. I seems that everyone on this thread so far ordered both ZSP and ZPP, with not a single 328 in sight. Nice group of cars!:rocks: |

There seems to be no way to track it once it leaves Europe. AIS has service around the canal but it is not available in the free AIS system apparently. Wistarf was going to try and get a free 2 week trial of the full system, but I don't know how that went.
Here is the link to the web cams on the canal, http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html If someone can watch them all day , we might know when it goes through. |

Today I put in an application for a free trial on AIS live, but now I'm waiting for them to email me a password. Apparently it's not an automated deal, so I might not get it until tomorrow.
Hopefully the H.A. doesn't cross the canal before we can get that area up on AIS Live. Stay tuned!

hey guys. im on the westcoast (orange county, california), and my 335i reached the port of exit on the 16th of november. I'm not sure how long it takes from that point to get on a ship but is it safe to assume im on the haul africa as well? Thanks guys. These threads make the wait just a little bit more bearable. haha. hopefully we'll all have our new beauties by christmas.

Any luck with tracking our Hual baby out there on the lonely sea...? Hopefully she isn't running too far behind schedule.

Sorry guys. No luck so far. I applied but haven't heard a peep. No acknowledgement, nothing. I'll try it again tomorrow. Meanwhile I'll just keep the canal cam up to watch the odd assortment of ships going by hoping to get lucky and spot the Hual Africa.
I'm more desperate than ever for my 335 because today my old car finally died. It bravely soldiered on for 8 months after being totaled - broadsided by a guy who ran a red light - and left unfixed because it wasn't worth fixing - it's a 15 year old Accord. Anyway, today the engine suddenly started leaking oil profusely from around the oil sump housing and quicly lost all of it's oil. That did it. I called up PBS and donated it. They'll pick it up on Friday and will auction it off, probably for salvage parts, and I'll get a receipt for a small tax writeoff. But that leaves me without a car. Luckily I've been able to borrow my neighbor's old Ford pickup in the meantime, but family's coming on the 19th for the holidays so I'll probably have to rent something before the new car gets here.

Sorry to here about your Accord but it's going to make that E92 seem that much sweeter when you get it. I know this from experience after driving an old Ford truck for the last 12 months.

Hey Wistarf, looks like you and I are on the same boat literally. I have been without a car now for about 3 weeks and am ready to have some transportation again. I turned in my Infinity G35 (Lease) prematurely. I kept having problems with it and they bought it back. I've been sharing with my girlfriend and talk about painful...
Lets keep our fingers crossed that the ol Haul keeps a steaming!

OK guys. A minor miracle. I just happened to check the web cam and it looks like I caught the Hual coming into the Gatun locks at 9:50 AM PST.
The Miraflores locks are about 40 miles ahead, so we should be able to catch it there a little later on today.

Oh boy, this is fun. I just spotted another car carrier that had crossed the locks just ahead of the Hual. It's about 25 miles further ahead now, crossing under the Centennial bridge. The Hual should be coming along any minute now.
Later on, we should be able to see shots of the ship crossing the Miraflores locks about 5 miles up ahead - although it might be dark by then.

Hey where's the Hual anyway? Should have been right behind this ship, which is now at the Miraflores locks, but no sign of the Hual yet, either under the bridge or at these locks. It's like she disappeared. Must have gotten stuck in the mud... this isn't healthy... now I'm getting paranoid.
