Well if your turbos are covered under warranty they are just going to put back in two OEM turbos.

Upgraded stock frame turbos are fine. Whatever you do just don't buy from VTT.

You will obviously need all the supporting mods to make the upgraded stock frames worth it.

I'd upgrade if you can. If everything is coming out and the labor is covered, why not?

What are your power goals? Do you have ready access to E85 or plan to use meth? Whatever you do make sure you install inlets at the same time as the turbo replacement.

Only if he asks. His power goal directly effects what stock frame upgrade he chooses.

I finally installed the AAP battery I got back in November. I had a really long crank over the weekend with the cold, so I figured it was finally time. I haven't registered it yet though. How hard/easy is it to use INPA to register it? I could use the mobile app, but I don't want to spend $60 if I don't have to.

INPA shouldn't be too hard. There should be walkthroughs on this forum with exactly what you need to do.

I'm getting nasty turbo noises on cold starts the past few days in a row. Then today when I stepped on it on the on ramp the car freaked out. Like it's choking/stuttering and the Service Engine Soon light came on. I took it easy all the way to work because I had to get there. Started it up this afternoon and it was fine, no light, then same thing getting on the highway again. Dropping it off in Sudbury tomorrow afternoon.

Chris Hatch is gone... any recommendations on who to try to get as an SA?

I'd love to have a '500 hp car' but don't know how reasonable that is. E85 isn't all that accessible to me in the Merrymack Valley nor do I want to run meth so 500 hp is probably a pipe dream.

I think I'll be happy just getting rid of the wastegate rattle and putting on inlets to be honest with you but more power is always welcome. I imagine I'll be at a healthy number with downpipes, mhd+jb4, & inlets

supposedly with the new RBs(not the evos) on 93 with inlets you can hit 500whp on 93. But only one person has posted that dyno. No meth or E85 just pump 93. But then there is the question of how reliable they are. I would probably go with Hexon if I needed upgraded stock frames.

My hope is on stock frame turbos on 93 + meth + inlets I can hit 450 whp / 500 TQ.

I've had pretty good luck with this car and with Sudbury. They've always been good to me there. This should be where the CPO money pays off. We shall see.

That sounds like a good goal to me. I'd call that a 500 hp car, or at least I would if i were BMW and selling it brand new. What is the drive train loss on these cars? If it is 12% then 450 rwhp would be 504 crank hp anyhow

Cool, I'll have to do the research. It looks like my car thinks I have the old battery in since it still shows the battery light a minute after I turn off the car.

You can download MHD for free and register it that way I believe.

MHD does not register batteries. Can clear battery adaptations, but not register IIRC, unless the app has changed since Nov. The only way via phone is using Carly app, with battery add-on.

someone just posted that MHD could, I was surprised, but no one corrected them.

If you have the DCAN cable, Bimmer software.com has a program you can download for free that will register the battery.

Icarly

INPA

Lots of ways to do it it seems, just need the cable.

my buddy has his stock exhaust modded on his e92 m3 as well and I LOVE the sound...that's definitely the way to go and with bigger tips, also thousands cheaper than the PE exhaust for that car
