My 330
Well, after reading all of these posts I am starting to feel like I hit the jackpot. Apparently these cars have a bigger following then I thought.
My first BMW is a 2006 330i in TiAg with sport/premium/sirius. I guess the lucky part is that I found a manual! Got it last month as a CPO with 21k miles for $28k. It's a fantastic car that makes my 30 minute commute disappear. Love the car ... already hit it with the menzerna/poorboys ex-p/DoDo juice light fantastic and it pops. Nice to know I own a cult car. |

The funny thing is our EPA rating is better than some econ cars and we get
better that some of them. Like the Scion TC..lol!! Even though the 335i is a much better performer than us and gets same mileage, it is still good

Great thread!
Heck - I wasn't even in the market for a car. I had a sweet E46 ZHP that I loved. Then.... I saw this E90 come up as a lease takeover. Alpine white... check Terra leather... check Aluminum trim... check 6 MT.... check Sport... check Premium... check Heated seats... check I was done for as soon as I saw the pics. I was debating ordering this EXACT car, but only in a 335i. I think it was a sign from God to take this lease over instead of paying $45k+ for the 335i....

http://mein.auto-treff.com/Dr.Sommer-1.bmw It is May 2005 build and has 52344km on clock. Most important Mods: OEM M3 mirrors Performance steering wheel Performance exhaust BBS CH 19" All I can say it is still my dream car and I will keep it until a all new 3er turns up maybe in 2012... For the next winter months it will sit in the garage to keep it away from the SALT Last edited by Dr.Sommer; 02-21-2009 at 01:19 PM.. |

What's the model number on that wheel style? I *really* like those and I'm pretty tempted to get some.
I have this style of rims. I don't dislike them, but I like the ones on that car a bit better. What's the story with the different rim styles? Did one of them come with a package or are they considered equals and more people opted for the other style?

They came with the sport package for the 330 only (and 335 till they changed them).

Upgraded suspension (tighter stiffer) different steering wheel, and one of the best parts of the package....... the sports seats. Everything else you can buy and change fairly easily, wheels, suspension, even the steering wheel, but the seats are VERY expensive and hard to find used.

I'll just have to be content with what I have I can see myself replacing the rims, but probably not going through the effort of getting that other stuff replaced. I find my seats to be comfortable, the wheel turns, and the suspension seems great to me. My previous car was a '95 Volvo 850 so of course everything in my 330i feels like a huge upgrade. The steering wheel in my car doesn't look any different than the sport wheel. Is it something other than looks that makes it different? The trick will be keeping myself from driving a car with the sport package, lest I become rife with jealousy. Thanks for the info though.

Sport suspension is also about 1/2" or so lower. Not a dramatic difference. The biggest differences are the seats and the wheels. I love the 162s. If you're inclined to buy some at some point, there are replica 162s you can get that are cheaper than OEM (try a search here). Also, you can often find people selling the OEM dirt cheap on the "classifieds" threads, as they upgrade to aftermarket wheels.
