I mean, it will work, but not very dissuasive for the risk of make it fail.
First instinct is to look in the fuse panel...

Intercepting the fuel pump low amp signal wire in the loom running at the passenger side and put the switch in a hidden place, but quick and easy to reach ; will be more effective and quicker not only to install, but to use.

Maybe a push button hidden behind the seat leather at the bottom?

can be also a proximity kill switch with the dongle on your key fog.

Thanks, must admit tapping into wires in the rear of the fuse box sounded craped and fiddly.

Know what colour the fuel pump low amp signal is. My car is right hand drive so assume its on my side.

Be easy enough to find a discrete spot for a small rocker switch.

You can find just about any fuse box here StartMyCar

Also recently I've been using chatgtp for repairs and mods to varying success

pushing on into the fog....

I like overdose's idea. So found a wiring diagramed and with a bit of cross checking have identified the + wire for the fuel pump is red and white, 2.5mm.

According to yet another 20yo doing a BMW fix on youtube, the fuel pump is located under the right side rear seat facing forward.

So now just need to think of where a switch can go. Initially I was hoping I could use the favorites, and maybe use a code of 2 or 3 numbers. But after reading the owners manual they are pre programmed into the infotainment options so way above my skill set.

So that turned quickly to the spare buttons available, but sadly that's all a bit obvious. Curious though, anyone know what BMW put in these spares.

In my car there is a hill descend button. To keep the rpm stable when going down a hill. I would say why not use a 'blind' button here. Nobody will notice.

Also when running a wire outside the top of the fusebox, make sure that is still seals well. Otherwise water could get in.
