Hi! Does anybody know if it is possible that the CD changer loses its coding after the battery has been unplugged for a couple of days (e.g. during audio upgrade project...)? I got new speakers installed and put the system back together, but the CDC button on the Audio menu of my professional BMW radio don't do a **mn thing. It should switch the view to the view where you can change the CD, but it doesn't. I didn't unplug the head unit or the CD changer during the speaker install. I can also eject the CD's in the changer, so there's power for it...

These installation instructions are incorrect.

All the posts I've read that have followed these instructions have lost functionality of something in the car..

Hello, I followed these instructions when installing this system into my vehicle, which is a USDM, pre-LCI, non-Idrive model with the BMW professional stereo cd system. I would like to confirm that this guide does work, however I sourced the specific p/n cd changer that was listed above as I am unsure of whether others may/ may not work, and would like to note that I did not need to code anything at all with my installation being essentially plug and play other than re-arranging the fiber-optic wires. Hope I could help!

PS- I did this DIY a few months ago and everything works without issue, no skips, or issues playing anything, other than the slightly increased loading time it takes for the cd changer to swap whichever cd is playing at the moment. (also that cd changer trunk carpet with the cd jewel case slots is still available at the time of writing this which is a very nice convenience.)

if you upgrade radio to lci version you might get cd-text from cd-changer displayed as well
found that during experiments with 2010+ radio on 2007 car

I see! I'll have to make a note for that if I spot an LCI down at the wrecker that still has its stereo in it!
