CiC... What port is this?

Finished the CiC Retro and hooked everything up and had a port left on the back with no cables for it....

Came from a 2012 E93....

Sirius sat radio. If you are pre-wired for sirius you will have 1 or 2 sirius connectors in the trunk. That is where sirius was for pre-lci and I think your 2007 used 2 connector rather than the single pink one. If just one pink, you can extend that one to the front. If not, run a new one from the shark fin to the front. I just did that and it was not difficult. Ebay vendor can sell good extensions for a fair price.

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...nsion&_sacat=0

Run the donor vin to make sure sirius is enabled otherwise you will need a fsc code to activate the hardware.

Yep... donor car has...

S655 Satellite tuner

and it is active in the menu.

My car has....

S693A Preparation BMW satellite radio

hmmmm... time to figure out where in the trunk on an E91 that other connector is...

What is the difference between pink, blue, gold, etc farka cables besides the color?

The different colors have different plastic pins on the connector to prevent them from being plugged into the wrong port.

https://www.edn.com/design/automotiv...f-connectivity

The pre-wiring ends where the TCU or MULF would mount. I think E91 would be under the rear hatch carpet up close to the back seat. It can be wrapped up in gray foam.

To do this the factory LCI way, pull the cover from your 3rd brake light and you can see under the headliner where the pink connector attaches to the shark fin. You can then follow the radio and GPS antenna wires path to the front. They goes down the drivers side pillar, along the edge by the rear seat and then under the drivers seat. They then follows the edge of the hump and go up under the CIC. Removing the drivers seat and gas pedal allows the carpet to be pulled up enough to get the wire under it.

This is what the older 2 antenna system looks like https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sh...20&postcount=1

The foam the wiring was hidden is sitting on top of the TCU to the left.

Interesting... I was looking about satellite radio before and all the units I found only had the farka port on them.... so there must be a BMW cable that converts from the connector (bimmerfest link) to the appropriate farka port. Then it would just be a matter of running a cable basically up through the bottom of the interior.

The early Sirius IBOC boxes had 2 antenna connectors. Later ones switched to IBOC with a single antenna connector. I do not know of a way to convert the 2 wire system so I disconnected the pink connector at the shark fin and ran a new wire all the way to the front. I was already there running the GPS wire as my car never had nav/i-drive. It only added a few minutes to the job when compared to running the wire to the trunk/hatch.

Well, maybe satellite isn't needed after all.

My 2006 has the single connector in the trunk. You can buy a $12 extension cable on amazon.

Guess I need to take apart the rear upholstery in my car. Trying to remember if the bottom section will lift without removing the wheel arch sections.... which are a serious pain in the arse in a a wagon.

Any which way, that will probably be next weekend.... snow has started here.

Are you looking to install a Sat tuner module?

Pulled the interior apart a little while ago and found a single Fakra connector. Seems like Nicko43 is correct about these E9x vehicles.
