Not running an o2 sensor
So i just installed some catlesss DPs off ebay which was the worst thing i could do....but sadly i was not able to plug in one of the o2 sensor that is supposed to go in the rear DP, so i plugged it up with a bolt and i have been running it for about a week now on mhd stage 2+... is there anything that can go wrong besides reduced gas mileage? thanks
Edit: I can not LITERALLY fit it in, im fully aware it NEEDS to be in however i cant ATM Last edited by Adrianizzle; 02-27-2020 at 07:10 PM.. Reason: edit |

Haha you have balls to even post that here!
Well what did you do with the O2 sensor? If you left it connected in the open air, your fuel trims for that bank of cylinders is going to be maxed out rich, maybe foul the spark plugs? Why were you not able to install the O2 sensor?

Why not? You know what the O2 sensors do right? They are kind of a big deal. |

You have MHD....you can use that to log with as long as you purchased the Monitor Module which is suggested

Definitely get some new pipes, you cant run the car properly without that o2 sensor in there. I would even suggest you not drive the car at all before you get this fixed

don't get new pipes.
mark where it needs to go, take to muffler shop and have them weld bung in your pipe for $20. done, that day. at least leave the o2 sensor unplugged from the harness so the ambient oxygen doesn't freak out. and I'd probably take it off stage 2 things until you have closed loop back. put it back to stock for the health of the motor. |

^+1 Just weld another bung. As for running without o2 sensor, nothing will happen. Not sure why people assume automatically engine destruction. What happens when o2 just fails? Long term yes, I agree, don't do that, just short turn, until you sort it out, it will be ok.

you know the stock map will protect the motor in the case of full o2 sensor failure. but there's 0 reason to get new pipes. just pull it and take it somewhere and they will weld a bung in it. any custom exhaust place will have everything you need. |

I love the priviledge of being able to drive my car however I please, wherever I please! Let's quite literally shit all over this privelidge, the gift of personal transporation by installing catless DP's!
How about. No. You should at least install some sort of high flow race cat and stop driving like an asshole with your fuel trims maxed out. |
