So you did:
Center bolt: 100Nm + additional 45-50 degrees
Strut bolts: 40Nm + additional 45-50 degrees

I agree..+ 100 degrees on the center bolt is crazy tight!

Since they are not Aluminum bolts, I would ignore the degree specs. I have done this a few times already and stuck to 100 NM and 40 NM in each instance. I use an electronic torque which continues to read beyond the set-point. I am curious what it would read if I did an additional 100 degree on top of those specs. The degrees would translate to NM for non-Aluminum bolts. I wonder if folks are adding at least 20 to 30 NM on top of the rated specs. Just asking for trouble in my opinion.

It has NOTHING to do with whether or not the bolt is aluminum. Look up what "torque to yield" is. Torque+degree is an extremely common method of TTY and can be applied to any fastener material.

I just changed VCG on my e90 N52KP. When putting the strut brace back on, the E14 bolt (side) felt not quite tight at 40 NM. So I tightened more using the torque wrench little by little. I ended at 100 NM, which was 30 degree additional rotation after reaching 40 NM. I also tightened the center E18 bolt more after reaching 100 NM, ended around 140 NM. Did not make a mark on the center bolt, so can only guess the additional rotation was about 30-40 degree. I reused the original bolts.

@Suprgnat: I am well aware of TTY although I admit I thought TTY was applicable just for Aluminum bolts which as you said is incorrect. TTY bolts are meant to be single-use only i.e. you are not supposed to reuse them. Which is exactly why I stop with the torque specs and do not do the angle part. That extra torque applied with the angle reading deforms the bolt rendering it limited to single-use. I have an additional aftermarket horizontal strut bar which makes the whole thing look like a triangle and this arrangement more than compensates for what I do with those bolts. I've been reusing them forever. Removing strut braces is quite common for a lot of DIY jobs we do where we need that extra access - it is a bit much to expect us to throw out the old and go with new bolts every single time.
