e91 Alpina D3 - new alloys advice please

Hi, I've owned my Alpina D3 for a few months now and I think I'd like to change the wheels for more of a CSL style concave alloy. It has the Alpina classics on at the moment, which are 19".

My question is, would 20" look too big? I'd prefer to stay 19" I think, but don't want to regret that decision.

also, the car is black, do you think black wheels would look ok? or with a machines lip? or silver?

any pictures/advice is welcome.

Personally being an Alpina I'd leave the rims as are. But if you wish to change then 20's will be harsh and too big. And black on black is fine for some but I don't like it as it loses the details of the rims and the whole car has no contrast.

I'd also stick with the 19's. If you upload a pic of your car side on and an example of the wheels you like I'll photoshop them onto the car in black, gunmetal and silver so you can make an informed decision

I think I agree having found some pics.

there are some with a machined lip which might look better than black. Although I saw a black 335i touring on here with silver CSL reps on and it looks good!

thanks - I will try to get a pic up later on.

One of the reasons for changing is the stupid lockable cover for the wheel bolts. They keep breaking, so I have to drill the lock out and replace, so annoying and the locks are very low quality and cost a fortune.

Yup silver works well as contrasts superbly against the black of the car.
