I did the same thing. Opened the hood, locked the doors and waited for the UPS to come for 2 hours. Installed it immediately after I received it and took it out for a spin to test the new SSTT.

Guess I'll give it two more days before I make any conclusions.

Hey guys - is it worth pulling the trigger on the SSTT with the second version on its way? Will this be an upgrade? Just don't want to waste money on the first version because after reading all the good reviews it looks like i will be wanting version 2!

Jon - thanks for the quick replies. I will let you know shortly.

Thanks.

It's my understanding that the V.2 will need V.1

Odd then...What error codes were you throwing?

Add me to the list of happy sstt users.Got mine about a week ago ,have had it on and off three times just so I could compare for the 1 week return policy.Car seems blah without it,you won't send it back.
As a foot note it can be tricky getting the clip off but once you get a technique down ( for me it's
the guitar pick but a heavy not the supplied medium) it only takes a minute.I also added a little dielectric silcone around the clips and it just pops out now.Personally I could'nt imagine all the hassle of messsing with the ECU or even taking a chance of messing things up but I guess to each his own. This thing works great is so easy to install and plenty of power for me,thanks Jeff!!!!!

I did not have a code reader at the time, but they were read and cleared by ///Matt at his old dealership; and he verified that the codes were related to the t-map sensor (SSTT). Mt SSTT was installed and uninstalled by a eurobahn authorized dealer.

Well then I am sorry for your bad experience! Did you make contact with Jeff and get a replacement unit? It almost sounds like a faulty SSTT.

no, my tmap sensor is/was fine. the clip was broken when the eurobahn dealer uninstalled it.

I sold the SSTT a week later to my friend, and it has been in his E93 ever since. No problem what-so-ever; he loves it! The only contact I had with Jeff was to complain that their dealer broke my tmap sensor clip when uninstalling the SSTT from my car and did not tell me. I found out about it the next time ///Matt was working on my car; he asked me if I knew that my t-map sensor was being held on my electrical tape. I haven't contacted the installer yet... Jeff if u are reading this, I could use some assistance, as I'm sure the owner is going to question the legitimacy of my claim, as it is nearly a year later now.

That all really sucks! Sorry to read about it!

So now I am 100% confused and out of ideas...the SSTT was not faulty and there was not a problem with your TMAP. The installation is virtually impossible to mess up but that seems like the only remaining possibility. There must be some factor I am overlooking but the limits of my limited knowledge have been reached.

Neither were faulty. the only point I was ever trying to make from the start was that the TT induced limp mode on my car...

I get that! All I was trying to do is understand why since it is an unusual presentation. I think none of us wants to do something that harms our cars so if we can understand why your car acted differently we can try to avoid having the same problem. Thank you for patiently helping out!

Future SSTT owners, don't try to pry the clip up so much that you break it. Raise it "just enough" to where you can pull the harness apart with just a little pull-action.

I think you guys with the broken clips are putting too much into it when it is not necessary.

If I can do it in 2 minutes, then that probably means that most of you should be able to do it in 1!!!

I took the car out 20 minutes later for a quick run and noticed a small increase in throttle and kick. Later in the day I took the car out for a spin and on to the freeways. All I can say is INCREDIBLE. I am a very happy camper right now.
Are you saying that you can only feel the bigger increase at higher speeds out on the freeway or that it just took some time for your ECU to adapt to the SSTT? I'm curious as to what it does at lower RPM's and speeds as well. Do you think it's worth the purchase if your never really going to push the car over 80 MPH?

The SSTT yields its best results after the ECU has time to adapt. You definitely feel the product working its magic at lower speeds too.
