Sounds good! Anxious to go myself, haven't been down a real track in over a year.

Just want to fix this oil pan gasket leak first and do downpipes same time

DA is a measure of how much air there is, even if you are at sea level the air could measure as if you are 3000ft above it depending on conditions. Knowing the DA helps understand your racing conditions and what expectations you should have for the run.

If you told me you ran a 13.2 @ 110 in your car at 500ft DA, id say it needs work. If you say you did it at 8500ft DA, id say you were doing pretty good.

A burnout isnt required for drag radials, i would do one, but if not I would at least want them hot. So if you drove to the track on them and its a warm day, might not be required, but I would always at least spin my tires get dirt and debris off before pulling to the line.

And if they are brand new tires, either drive on them 40-50 miles before hand or do a real good burnout the first time out, they wont hook well until you get the first layer of rubber and manufacturing goo off.

I would try shifting close to 6k+, your gears are long enough as is. Your mph isn't great, so I feel like between the spinning and short shifting you were giving up some trap somewhere.

Always datalog your runs at the track, what better place to do it? Rarely on the street will you get a chance to run from a stop through every gear to near 120. Paints a good picture of how good the car is running and again can give us understanding of why you would be running slow like this. If the car is good on the logs we can rule it out and focus on driving and traction, if the log is bad then we can see what needs fixed.

We can also see your intake temps, if they were extremely high it explains the low trap. If not, driving does. Lots of reasons to log and know DA.
Alright thanks so much for all the information haha. You are a goldmine! Thanks! Next time I'll go I'll keep all this in mind and post my results.

So a 265/45/17 tire would be a good fit on a 17x8 rim you think? Or 50.

I would run either a 255 or 265, either will work okay.

But i'd run a 40 series sidewall, we dont want to make your gears any longer than they already are.

265-40-17 is 25.3in OD and an OEM 225-45-17 is 25in OD. So damn close, 255 would match exactly.

Either is fine imo, i doubt you'll see much traction gain between to two so whatever you can find for the best price/availability.

Ok perfect. Was having a hard time finding 265 45s or 50s

10.755 @131mph

2008/335i Coupe 6AT -full weight /interior etc.
Main gofast bits ;
Pure Stage 2 Turbos - Turbo Back custom RAMP Auto exhaust
Nizpro Custom intercooler / TFT intake/
Motive PI / AIC6 /Fuel IT Stg 3 / Motive Flex Fuel + MHD; Currently Justin@Twisted is helping tune it ; still in the process while doing this run. E85.
Nizpro Built 6AT trans (inc. billet internals) Quaife LSD / Mfactory forged axles / Diff Lockdown kit / Line Lock
Yokohama Advan A08 285/18 tyres (26/7psi for the 10sec run)

Have included both the 10 sec run and the subsequent final run for the night, as after I hit the AD08's with a huge line lock burnout(let them down to 26psi for that), which worked amazingly for grip on the 10sec run . The next run was wheelspin city, couldn't hold the throttle in any gear had to get off it in 4th as it went sideways frighteningly (hence low mph) . I think the massive heat cycle wasn't kind to the track orientated tyres . The drive home they felt really cooked, so maybe an expensive lesson there about semi comp track tyres.

Awesome pass. And yes, always use the right tires for the job especially with that much power. Go back with with stiff wall drag radials or slicks!

Very hot and humid day but had lots of fun.
Only downside is I did not use launch control so 0-60' times hurt me.

Nice run! 2nd gear launch? What rpms were you shifting at?

thanks !! it was a 2nd gear launch, i shift around 6100rpm but it really depends on your mods, check your logs and see where the boost really starts to fall off and shift before that point. I have inlets so they help hold boost in the higher rpms a little better. I was shifting at 5800 without inlets.

I think it was about 85 degrees and 70% humidity.
Not bad at all but IAT's hurt me the most.

Those who launch in 2nd with rwd, how do you launch? Do you break boost giving it full throttle? Do you hold it at a steady rpm, say around 1500rpm, and slowly get into it? Im having a hell of a time launching. If I break boost, the car digs hard when I let off the break, then bogs out because the rpms drop back down. If I slowly get into it, the car breaks loose and wants to shift into 3rd early. Frustrating.

What hurt us the most was the almost 4000 density altitude, IATs dont help. But that is some seriously awful air. Normally I dont even drive to the strip unless its under 1500. lol

I'm telling you, if you can get it to hook up the same in better air, thats mid 11s easy.

My best run along side my dragy of the same pass, then I used the TRC app DA calculator to see what it would run in decent air, not sure thats spot on but id be happy with a halfway improvement in better conditions;
