FAKE BBS Center Caps VS. REAL

How the fack do you tell apart from Real BBS Center Caps
from Fake BBS Center Caps?
Some of these reps being sold on ebay are getting
very cleaver with their products.
branding them made in Germany with serial and everything.

For rep BBS LM they fit great, for real BBS LM they're a finger nail
smaller.

REP SPECS
56mm backside (black side)
68mm-69mm face side

Here's a close up of the back
i'm borrowing from a member.

If you're running BBS LMs
it's the 3 prong cap you'll need.
the back will not have a metal ring,
most likely it will say MADE IN JAPAN.

there is a bbs center cap with a 4 prong
and it does come with a metal ring.
those are for BBS RGs wheels

always good to get ur bbs from an authorize dealer
like a tirerack. u get the point.

three different centers from BBS

B and C are the more common among E90post members.

TYPE B (3 prong)
example:
BBS LM
TYPE B
56mm backside (black side)
70mm face side (red, black, black gold, CF, polished)

TYPE C (4 prong - has metal ring)
example:
BBS RG-R
TYPE C
64mm backside (black side)
70mm face side (red, black, black gold, CF, polished)

no matter how much i want to get rid of my flat black centercaps i cant sway myself to rock bbs caps on my varrstoen reps

i would feel dirty

if i get the lm reps im going to throw on bbs centers...they look good and if people ask ill let them know they are reps.

The more currrent BBS Caps will be mark'd Japan.
if you're lucky and find an older cap -
most likely it'll come from a BBS RS (3 prong center cap)
wheel that will be mark'd:

W. Germany
09.23.221
PC. ABS

i'll find a cap and take a pict of it.
- if it says Germany, it'll be an OLDER center
cap - not a new one. That's the difference.

bumping this as I just bought some rep caps stamped "BBS" and "W. Germany" but I'm 99.9% sure they are fake!

Two arrived damaged so going to return them.

bump, could anyone recommend a reputable source for the 4 prong 70mm (type C) caps? I purchased from BavAuto before ECS bought them out. Doesn't look like ECS is stocking them.
