Ok thanks. I do not yet have a working version of NCS expert or NCS dummy yet but there are many topics about it so I hope I can get this to work.

My car has $431 but no POWER SEATS with MEMORIES so will it not work without changing wires in the passenger door as mention in the first post?

Has anyone changed the wires already?

Ups! Sorry, you need $430 (OUTSIDE mirrors) instead $431 (INSIDE)

If you don't have:
- Memory seats
- $430 OUTSIDE dimming mirrors
- $313 power folding mirrors

You have to re-wire the doors and create the LIN Bus between the mirrors and the FRM module.

I haven't done it before so I am not able to help you with this...

Regards.

ok thanks. For me, the parking feature is most important, so the automatic tilting feature. Perhaps this will work without the re-wiring of the doors.
I have all the stuff so I will just try and see what happens.

If you don't rewire the door it is not going to work.
You need to install LIN bus between the mirrors and the FRM. This is a data bus which manages all the features including tilting feature.

It is not going to work without this bus properly installed

Hello, just watched your DIY. I have a 09 E93 with power folding/auto dim mirrors. One thing I don't have is the option to fold the mirrors with my key fob. Is that something that needs to be recoded or have the ECU reprogram?

Does your mirror tilt wher your engage the 'R' gear?

If yes, you only have to follo this DIY (basically, you have to change both mirrors, the windows switch panel and recode).

If you have the most basic one, (No tilting) then you have also to change a few wires at the windows switch panel.

Kind regards.

You have to change a few values at your FRM module. This is a codding task.
No added hardware is needed

Can that be done without going to the dealer? If so, how? I'm a novice when it comes to cars.

Hi Jose_JN!!

thanks for this DIY, I found it very useful- it is very easy to do the hardware- I found the parts on a scrapped car for very cheap in the UK

So I installed folding mirrors and switch. I have a car with memory seats, auto dimming centre mirror and passenger mirror that tilt when you engage the 'R'.

Only the coding remains for me- can you clarify- my mirrors do not yet fold if I press the button. Will the coding make the button work? I though the button should just work hope i don't need to do the wiring!!!

You only have to code the car and all stuff will start to work

You have to add $430 to your VO and reset the FRM module.

Regards!

I am sorry but you have to go your dealer or buy an OBD-USB interface and get all the software needed for coding.

If you only want this maybe it is easier for you try to find someone who knows how to do it near you.

For me, I always use NCS Experten Tool but you could do it with ISTA/P or E-Sys or something like that.

Regards.

To ask a question that has been awnsered already i think....

So if i have Elec. Seats + Memory , its a matter of Plug & Play ?

Then its just a matter of putting mirrors on the car that have the folding option & the dimming one ?
Without adjusting any wiring ? just coding ?

Its the only option i miss at the car i'm going to buy. So wanne know for sure its possible to build in.

Yes, it is. Plug, code & play.

No extra wiring and no extra connections.

Kind regards!

Alright thanks bud. Already went past a dealership, they asked the technical area and indeed. they say its plug & Play .

But they also said for some its plug & play, but some do need extra wiring ( think he means the ones without the seats + memory then ).

Cheers man. Gonne give green light to the dealer to import the car.

That is not true

No extra wiring for the side mirrors.

You only need extra wiring for the INNER mirror if you dont have the EC inner mirror. I mean, the EC sensor is located at the inner mirror and it controlls the outside EC too. So if you want side EC mirrors, you also need to install the inner one with the extra wiring for it.

But it does not matter if you have power seats or not.

Kind regard.

This also works with M3 mirrors right?
The car is a LCI ( without the mirror package what so ever ) gonne install M3 mirros from a pre lci M3 with all the options ( heated, power folding, auto dim)

Pre lci mirrors work on a lci guess?

Thanks for the DIY, it's nice to know that we don't have to remove the door panel to swap mirrors, but can you explain a bit more on how to remove the tweeters? Thanks !
