'Compromising' the xi suspension

Had an e-mail exchange with a parts person at my local dealer. I'm still looking at suspension options for my e91, as I'm not sold on the drops (1" +) that most kits offer, and I'm still researching the use of ZSP springs. Anyway,I was inquiring about the availability of AC Schnitzer suspension parts (springs) for the 3 series xi. She replied: 'Sorry they don’t do anything in that direction to avoid compromising the X-drive'.

Sheesh! Isn't the elevated ride height v. non xi a 'compromise'? Is that the company line?

that is bullshit, it doesn't have to be a 4 x 4... look at the drops on an Audi by comparison - all have AWD.
